Repackaging the FIC

Once upon a time, people respected and feared Imperial Japan. The Supreme Soviet. The Axis powers. Redcoats.

Where are they now?

British Invasion redux, but now with Austin Powers in the red coat.

So it will be with the FIC.

Those lonely feted beta members, slowly dwindling away.

Wandering in a land of noobs, who don't even know or care.

Doomed to walk the earth like David Carradine, in a world where Shaolin means nothing to anyone.

Believe in them or not, they are our history.

How can we keep this history alive?

I propose FIC reenactment groups, costumes, perhaps a museum.

Little plaques in historic places - maybe just 16m with a pillar, stating that Club "Gone Tomorrow" was once the site of an historic battle.

Maybe we can even identify some former FIC, and have them sit down, sign notecards, and tell stories of their glory days to the young.

Folks, this is rich content. Like Kabuki theatre or the art of musket crafting, it should be honoured and preserved.

Ideas for preservation, anyone?

Sorry, not only am I not considered an oldbie, being born January 2004 and missing the 2003 cutoff, but I'm SIC, not FIC. :D

Siobhan Taylor handles my state of FICness.

She was the one that dedicated me as an 'Honorary FIC'

We could re-enact the battle over Club Elite.

Also the Tax tea party would be pretty cool too.

Eggy already has the written history thing on lock.

This is *exactly* why such history needs to be preserved.

Who can tell the difference between the styles of 1890 and 1900 any more?

Stand in, educate, capture those little nuances. (Though I personally suspect she is correct and you are still FIC, albeit a youngish one. Nyah. :) )

I've heard that people wore colonial dress during the great tax revolt.

Does anyone still have period costumes of that time?

Oh!!!! I remember that one! Or was it my alt that no longer exists that remembers it? Hmmm. Anyways, that was the only time I saw Lindens publicly trying to moderate a dispute between residents. There was a big public meeting. Lots of drama. An re-enactment would be great Melodrama. :)

I will be leading a re-enactment of the founding of Neualtenburg.
As I'm playing the part of Ulrika Zugzwang, I'll need a Kendra Bancroft.

(kind of hoping to get Barnesworth, but he's too expensive)

I said "Thick", not FIC Psyra... I was talking about making Chocobo Pie. Anyway, leave me out of this... there's way too much FIC discussion going on and I'm going to go hide til it's all over.

Before dwell - you had 'voting booths' - you could pick one up and put it on your land.

If someone liked your build they would click on it to vote - and you would get a lil bonus on tuesday based on how many votes you had. Each person could click on each vote booth once a week.

Sounds nice huh?

Voting Circles is where you fly all over world and click on your buddies vote boxes, and they would click on yours - and though it was gaming the system it was pretty funny in a way - I knew that player X would be at my place at time Y on Z day.. stop for a lil chat then fly the next leg on their circle around SL.
