I just found this thread.. (little bit late) but I just wanted to say that Eponine was a pure delight to meet. She was trying on hair and took to my instruction for adjustment with great ease. A newbie pro if you will .. I am alsovery glad that HoseQueen and i left you with a good impression. Considering the amount of responses in this thread I think you have seen its not an isolated case of kindness. There are so many fine people here. Welcome again, Eponine. SL is lucky to have a newcomer such as you.

From: Eponine Basiat Hi all. I have played a few online mmo's and wandered my share of internet chat rooms. A friend told me about SecondLife after hearing it discussed on a podcast about a week ago and I decided to check it out.
(snipped only for brevity) Welcome to SL, hon. BTW: I LOVE the sig! <grin>

I never accidently wore a box on my head. The first item i bought (it was a shirt) was in a bag, which was attached to the hand. Hmmm, I feel so excluded.

From: Eponine Basiat Thanks for the encouragement all. I forgot to mention that I made my first t-shirt - that was so cool! A woman asked if she could buy it from me at a club and I was terrified to sell it because I did not know if I had even done it right. I had her check it out and she ended up buying two (one for her and one for her gf) Hello Eponine! We both loved the shirts, and hope to see more from you, and more of you as well!

From: Cocoanut Cookie Making a t-shirt already? That is fast! I always like my avatars to look kind of like mini-me's. Anyway, you can have that the your base avatar, and then, you can still make or have as many avatars as you want and wear them whenever you want! I've got a bunch I use like that, including one that is a bowl of fruit! I got a motorcycle stuck on my head when I first joined (over a year ago). I guess a house would be even worse! coco Yer, everyone should have a few avatars based on the situation. For moment to moment I'm usually wearing my Wyrmling Avatar (Med sized dragon), for dancing clubbing and hangin with my gal I have my other one.

Hi and Welcome to SL I just happen to have a brother who's deaf. He runs around SL sometimes. I could give you his ID in-world if you like. Or give your's to him. One way or another. Just thought that might be worth a mention.

I'm also VERY new to SL (I started less than 18 hours ago) and so far I have to say I'm having a good time. Met a couple very nice people who helped me out by giving me a couple quick lessons and some outfits so I look much better. Haven't really explored much though .. spent the first night (probably around 4 or 5 hours) just trying on different outfits I was given and fiddling with my hair. Hopefully I'll find a way to make my hair the way I want it As for the "box on the head" ... I missed out on that I guess. Although, I did in fact have sunglasses in my ear and a Pool Table on my head somehow. The camera goofs me up alot though, sadly. I try and swing it around to look at myself so I can try on different outfits, and end up in a wall, or looking at something from some angle so bad I hardly know what is going on. Frustrates me, but I'm sure I'll get it down. Maybe tonight I'll take some tours of the area like Eponine did ... sounds like fun, this is all new to me, so I'm sure the "wow" factor will be huge Oh, haven't "created" anything yet .. I'm scared to try, I have this dread that I'll be so bad at it I'll never want to do it again.

check the events for classes. I went to a really fun basic class on Saturday. It was very hands on... and I think she said she holds it every Saturday. Now, I can't wait to get some time to play around creating.

You should definitely check out the Ivory Tower. Prim creation tutorials for the newest of newbies, exceptionally well done as well. I also second the notion of looking into classes. TeaZer U has MANY basic build classes, and the instructors couldn't be nicer. Welcome to SL -S
