You know how information paranoid I am? If it were physically possible, I'd pay everything with cash and just take money pout of the cash machine of my local bank every time I need to. Most of my utility bills are paid as cash.
btw Wendel, that data protection act you were talking about is a European one, and so has zero relevance to anything that LL does.

Well sure, the normal non-hacked interface doesn't give such information. But given that teh data is on the server, and the server has already been hacked once, a determined hacker can presumably make the server release that information, regardless of what the standard server channels allow. Also, they can magically suck data out of your computer JUST BY TOUCHING AN ETHERNET CABLE! There's a big, BIG difference between hacking into a vBulletin account and stealing the LL credit card info database. _____________________

And, in all honesty, if you are that paranoid about any of your info getting anywhere, I don't understand why you are playing SL and registered back when a CC was required. In fact, the IP you use to post here and (possibly) your registered e-mail address could very likely tell a few things to any of the net savy mods here about who you really are, where you live, ... In other words, you have already given LL a certain amount of trust, and now you are talking about extraordinary measures (like cancelling a card just after payment) to take it back. Still, I want to make it clear I'm not arguing against your initial point. That I agree with. Wendel |
