Maybe the question should be 'moral in SL FORUMS' as inworld the people I talk to have not noticed anything different. Most I know do not read the forums. Life is going on as usual.
That is not say I agree with new registration!

I got roots, and I got legs, and it seems to be that we are at the beginning of a remarkable enabling technology, and it is evolving and the primary drive is creative imagination, and yes it involves our base passions but also facilatates other things and other parts of our noos, our soul spark, it seems very very platonic in its form, the shadow on the cave wall, the garden of the ID, the mythology of symbols, WOW our whole inner selves fractured for all to see and investigate, how can this not make us all better. Sure we'll bumble and stumble and screw up as usual, but the shadow of the Long Man is upon us and we better embrace it because it is us, for better or worse. Here come the Loas. Did anybody actually understand any of that? I think they are happy. _____________________

1.10 was the best, most stable, and feature rich release that I've seen. My morale is directly proportional to my FPS. And it's getting better all the time.

When I first entered SL I felt it was an unstable, bug, and memory leak full piece of early adopter software that had alot of cool people and places with no other thing like it on the net. I have yet to see anything to change that view.

Did anybody actually understand any of that? I did; polysilox is saying, basically, that we're in the early stages of a pretty amazing technology which could evolve in a lot of ways, either good or bad. It's powered by human creativity, so it brings out both the best and the worst in us. It has the potential to let us create/build/show all the ideas that we dream about but have never had a way of expressing. We're bound to screw up at times along the way as we learn, but then again we always have. It helps to be a writer and to spend a fair amount of time studying the language of ritual. ![]() Here's a link to what Wikipedia has to say about Loas. Personally, my morale is down at the moment, but that's largely because my old graphics card is showing its age, I can't be in SL for very long at a time as a result, and I'm faced with upgrading earlier than I'd planned. I'm not nuts about open registration, but I love this place too much to bail out; we just need ways of coping with the negative side effects of this. _____________________
