I'm not so sure it's your alt detector buzzing, are you?
Absolutely, and the needle's off the chart.
How easy it is to dismiss people by claiming alt, troll etc.
It's no different than how I treat any new resident -- you expose your character through your behavior. In your case, it has been repeated gross misrepresentation of the position and goals of this protest to the point that you've become a caricature of yourself.
I guess under the circumstances of your loosely supported griefing protest at the celebration
Loosely supported? Over 100 people were on hand before the grid went down, and from the reports they were extremely well behaved -- woops, there's another of your ridiculous strawmen set on fire, huh?
I shouldn't expect more from people who knee jerk reaction in order to feel like they are doing "something" no matter what that is..
Yeh, it's just too bad that Second Life has residents that are passionate enough in our love of the place that we will speak up when we see something is wrong -- and we're fortunate enough to have a company in the Lindens who appreciate and encourage our opinions, even if they are in dissent.
For your info right now, I'm sitting in a group of about 30 residents who managed to stay on during the grid outage and we're having a calm discussion with some Lindens. Doesn't smell like "griefers" to me.
