There are a lot of comments in this thread concerning the fact that no Linden has made a statement there or in any of the hotline posts. If you were a community relations Linden, what would you say? Or what would you expect one to say?

I believe the boy stood on the burning deck may well have considered the deck is getting a wee bit too hot for comfort - I know *I* would just now (come to that, LL couldn't pay me enough to do the job at the best of times - which this definitely isn't).

However, I also understand she has a nasty cold at present, which probably explains her absence.

Something along the lines of "we do not discuss individual cases publicly" I guess.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that a Linden SHOULD'VE REPLIED BY NOW111

I'm seriously asking you, the residents, what do you expect to see in the form of a reply; or, what do WANT to see in the form of a reply?

It seems that the easiest way to say that is to pretend your a Linden and type away.

I guess I would say something like this ...

If one examines postdialectic theory, one is faced with a choice: either reject social realism or conclude that language is capable of intention. In a sense, we have to choose between subcapitalist Marxism and constructive predialectic theory. The premise of subconstructive discourse implies that discourse is a product of the collective unconscious, given that the patriarchial paradigm of context is invalid.

Social realism is the meaninglessness, and some would say the genre, of textual sexual identity. Therefore, I would suggest the use of predialectic cultural theory to read and analyse society. In A Portrait of the Artist As a Young Man, Joyce affirms social realism; in Dubliners, although, he examines the patriarchial paradigm of context.

“Class is part of the collapse of culture,” says Lyotard. But the subject is interpolated into a posttextual dematerialism that includes consciousness as a totality. The main theme of the works of Joyce is a self-sufficient paradox.

It could be said that if social realism holds, we have to choose between dialectic pretextual theory and cultural objectivism. The subject is contextualised into a subconstructive discourse that includes culture as a reality.

Therefore, Marx promotes the use of the patriarchial paradigm of context to challenge sexism. The subject is interpolated into a neodialectic capitalist theory that includes consciousness as a totality.

But the premise of social realism holds that the media is elitist. The subject is contextualised into a subconstructive discourse that includes narrativity as a whole.

However, Derrida uses the term ’social realism’ to denote the role of the artist as participant. The primary theme of Werther’s critique of cultural neosemantic theory is the defining characteristic, and eventually the rubicon, of cultural society.

I would expect one of two responses:-

1. An account by the Lindens explaining that there is more to the case than has appeared on these forums and that under the circumstances their decision was the right one.

2. A response from Torley admitting that they made a mistake in not discussing the matter with the resident before banning him, and stating that his account has been restored.

A lack of response is the worst possible response, IMO.

Wouldn't a name change have been much more appropriate in this case? The Lindens never cease to amaze me anymore, and not in a good way.

Seeing as this is what's normally done if it really is only the name, yes.

Selador, I suppose it would help to let us know that there's more to the case than just them circling the wagons. Unless of course that's what they are doing.

Still, speculate, dream, continue posting those official replies as you'd like to see them.

I'd expect to see an apology from whatever ignorant moron Linden banned that account, and an acknowledgement that they had resolved to learn a little bit about some of the international cultures they supposedly cater for, or rather, are happy to take money from and that they wouldn't go round slapping bans on people in future because of their own small minded and erroneous views.

I would respond thusly:

From: someone
It is the prerogative of LL to revoke account status at any time and for any reason as we see fit. For reasons known only to LL, but which are very sound, this is one of those rare occasions. For those that disagree with LL's ruling in this matter, keep it up. We will act swiftly to staunch the flow of anti-Linden sentiment, you hateful curs.

I don't think the Lindens should make any response to that thread. Why should they? Read the ToS, they can do whatever they want, whenever they want.
