Logged in to make sure things were ok, checked various things... and found that most of my scripted items are no longer working.

Poseballs, SLX box, SLB vendor, JEVN vendor...

What the hell happened??

My poseballs are not working either. I also noticed that if you click on say Inventory or Search, that option stays highlighted so you cannot walk around until you actually click in world...VERY ANNOYING! :( Is that just a bug or intended?

If it's intended, they're seriously wacko at LL now...

Our items and poseballs are working maybe it's something locally.

Please report these things issues as bugs; that sounds pretty bad about the scripted items. Um, ESPECIALLY the vendor boxes? Hopefully they'll be fixed by the time I'm home from work!

Do you always draw generalizable conclusions from case studies?

That's typically what case studies are for. The question is really "is this a valid case study".

Now, do you always ask rhetorical questions?

At least this now matches what happens with the IM window. :P

I'm now seeing that every object I had out before the update is not working. When I pull a scripted object out of my inventory, it works just fine.

This is great...

I reset the scripts, and they work.... for a bit.

The moment I stand up, they stop working so I end up sitting in a normal pose when I supposed to be laying down and I keep getting the "unable to stop animations" error...

Although the vendors seem to be working now...

Only thing I noticed (and reported) with scripts so far is that the sensor() event fires off when you attach an object with one in it, or cross a sim boundary with one attached.

Perhaps I overemphasized myself in some way, but the last time an update messed with scripts, particularly permissions, I lost a good deal of progress because I had been using a poseball script that became unusable. It was extremely frustrating, and I ended up deleting alot of interactive furniture I had created by editing that poseball script.

I have since gotten a new one, but I still have alot of old projects kicking around in a folder, which I have no energy to mess with because of their complexity and the simple fact that I have no idea /what broke/.

If I got a bit overzealous in my fear and surprise that this could have happened again, please forgive me, I still get bugged by people who bought things I made before the update(even though I removed them all from my vendors months ago) that I am still refunding.

So to answer your question, yes. Also kinda bugger off with an iron stick. ^^'

I'll do a few tests on random SLB vendors in random sims and see what happens. :-) I've tested two sets of my own in two sims so far and they seem okay. It might have just been slowness in the XML-RPC server to catch up for the vendors - not sure about the poseballs, however.

Regards,

-Flip

Thank you, Flip. I spent 2 hours yesterday putting things up on SLB, then having to go back and recheck permissions after I found out a few of them weren't set right. It was daunting. Hopefully I don't have to redo the whole process since I don't want to have to pull out any more hair.

It hurts, and I hate being bald.

poseball problem -- none, my poseballs are working

scripts problem -- none, all scripts functioning

Now this makes me wonder if this is just a transient problem, or if LL has fixed it and is rolling-restarting the Grid to propagate the fix, and they just haven't gotten to Isabel or Seopophang yet, or hadn't at the time I got my reports from Danielle in-world. And I'm stuck at work, so I can't go in and see for myself for some hours yet...

Sweet, I love rolling restarts. Especially when they hit the same sim like 4 freeking times in an hour due to their server mapping being teh sux =D

I went around and looked at the entire sim (I'm on a residential/commercial island) and the vendor scripts are working, just not the poseball scripts. My teleport script is also broken. The fix I am finding is deleting the old script and putting in a new one, or changing the old script and saving it. This will be problematic if you didnt make the object yourself, though. =/

Oh, and my sim has gone down a few times since SL has been back up and the problem is not yet fixed.

There are definitely some weird server issues. Mullett sim is crashing within 2 minutes, coming up, crashing. I can't even remove suspicious, heavy load objects, because it crashes so damn fast, and when it comes up again, the object is there again.

My private sim, with very low load, is doing just fine though. Sit scripts, sensors and everything.
