Hey,
I'm new to the forum and I want to know if anyone has ever dated or met the love of their life on Second Life? Do characters fall in love? I'm really fascinated to know since I heard something about a couple actually marrying through the site. Has anyone got their own story of 'romance'? I'm intrigued!

the average hit to miss ratio on SL is fairly high, kinda like highschool.
I think the average SL relationship probably lasts a month or two. Now for those that last, I know of a LOT of those that moved into RL.

there are LOTS of examples of romances starting from online games and SL. I can say I am one of those people I guess . I have met a wonderfull person through online gaming, and over the years we have progressed from game to game falling for each other more and more. Not exactly what you are asking as we didnt meet in SL, we met in Ultima Online in '98

Seriously, Romance is alive and well in Second Life. The question is, what do you want out of Second Life? Do you hope to find the person of your dreams here and hope to eventually take it into real life? If this is the case it's not easy. Many people don't want anything in second life to carry over into real life, but there are exceptoins.
I'd recommend you simply just try to make friends. Perhaps someone will become more to you and you will develope a more intimate relationship. You will need to talk to the person and let them know your expectations and hopes, and tell them if you are looking to take the relationship beyond the online world into real life.
It is not easy to find such a relationship. but I wish you the best if it is what you desire.

i met omerna bunderfeld in another online game in january of 1997(the realm, ewwwwww), he flew across the country and we got married in november of that year. we have been married in real life ever since, and we have lived in many online worlds, but this i believe is where we will be stayng now.
