From: Dr Tardis ..I hate that euphemism: "escorts". Why don't we call them what they really are? Are the words "prostitute", "whore", "hooker", "lady of the evening", or "purveyor of the world's second oldest profession" offensive? ... Oh well. I guess in this PC era, we're not allowed to call things as they really are any more. Hehe. You aren't serious, are you? You really think it's about being PC rather than being about the legal repercussions that might result from admitting to engaging in prostitution?

From: Ananda Sandgrain One person mentioned that it is tough to find men skilled enough in manners and conversation as well as having enough free time away from their RL jobs. Why not turn the usual SL stereotype on its head and hire women to be gentleman escorts? I'm sure they would do a much better job of it. That's actually a really interesting idea. I mean, I know better than anyone what sort of 'prince charming'-esque traits I'd want to see in a gentleman companion, they probably wouldn't be too far off base for other girls as well. And given the nature of the service I highly doubt any clients would be particularly put off if they knew the SLer was a female in RL, not that they would know.

I love the name "Safe Date!" (Bad Boyfriend - funny!) I seriously thought about setting up a male escort service in TSO, where more of the population was female. I mean HUGELY female. (And really female.) There was a great need there for this. A person who isn't open to game sex or relationships still gets tired of always going to events solo when everyone else is paired up. I was going to call it "Coco's Escort Service . . . Fine Male Companionship for the Discriminating Female." I was going to have a little cottage (what else?) on my lot, set up with an office in the front room and signs displaying the services and the prices, where I would interview the guys and find out what they would be willing to provide. Then each would have a letter or letters describing those services. I forget exactly what they were, but something along these lines: D = dates only S = sexy dates (very flirtatious) C = cyber RP = role play I had five or six of these, I forget what all, covering all kinds of possibilities. So you would have on the sign for the ladies to choose from, "Brandon, D, RP, S." The guys would set their own prices. I never did it because, you know, I just wasn't willing to give up my wholesome rep to become known as a Madam, even though my personal opinion was, "not that there's anything wrong with that," lol. Because I would have not only become known as a Madam, I would have become famous for it. But it sure would have been successful. Here, you have fewer females, and more females who are actually guys and vice-versa, but it could still be done. I would suggest, though, that you go into partnership with some savvy woman to be Madam (even if you are only offering D), as that will help you cut through lots of the potential crap from the get-go, and help keep everything on an even keel. coco

From: Tokidoki Television I was thinking... and then thought of a business. Where sophisticated smooth-talking gentleman 'escort' ladies to parties, or be their dance partner, kind of be a stand-in boyfriend, but with nothing to do with sex as the euphemism of escort infers to.
Kind of be a paid 'arm-candy'.
What does anybody think of this? Any comment/thoughts/improvements?
~~Tokidoki I like that!!! I love to take my avie dancing, but so many men in SL jump immediately into sex talk.

Enterprising woman makes an alt and escorts herself. Business model collapses.

Is this one of the ads thinly disguised as a discussion thread that Khamon comments about?

Or maybe just a newb brainstorming a business idea. I didn't see any requests to contact the OP if you want to utilize the service.
