lol embarrassing? why would i be?
I couldn't imagine. I'd be humiliated. Six generations of your ancestors are looking down from Heaven with shame in their eyes.

You have to bounce back, though. Convince everybody you are a worthwhile member of the SL community and not some griefer n00b loser. How you're going to do that, I have no idea. Maybe fashion a line of innovative women's clothing with an ironic or kitchy name. You can do it!

I can't believe you guys are jumping down the OP's throat for using a nuke when he didn't know what it would do.

Even if he'd been clued into the name of the object -- which is fairly obvious -- how could he have known that people don't go around blowing things up in SL as a normal practice? Shame on you for attempting to demonstrate your superiority -- it was just plain ignorance.

geez pretty harsh lol.. its cool though.. i was maybe 1hr into the game.. im on laptop i just tp'd some place and used it.. i wasnt looking for a crowd.. i just wanted to check it out myself.. i dont even think the area was fully loaded when i shot it and wasnt aware of there being a crowd..

My spidey senses tingle when I read how someone rationalizes thug-like behavior because he/she is new -- so new, in fact that they have only been in the game for an hour. That's pretty freaking new. Should we feel bad?

Also, I totally agree with everyone else who is reminding you that the word "Nuke" is a very bad thing.

Lastly, if you are so new to the game and were banned from the Barbie club after what had to be a couple of minutes. why would you give a rats ass about getting back in there. So much so, that you embarass yourself on this forum. If you are mesmerized by the trim you saw in your few moments there; relax -- you can find that at dozens of clubs in SL. :-)

Unfortunately for the gentlemen these ppl have gone the way of not giving an inch for anyone at all concering stuff like this.. :(
You know the saying it takes one to spoil it for the rest. And this is the result, he made a mistake and was swiftly punished for it.

But he did apolgize for it and seems sincere, I do believe he should get credit for that.

Personally, if I were absolutely new here in SL, I wouldn't want to be banned from anywhere -- I wouldn't know the significance, or the insignificance as it were, of being banned.

Don't you guys remember anything?

If someone handed me a nuke I probably would have tried it out immediately. Maybe I'm lucky nobody did. Give the guy a freakin break, at least he apologized.

Even so, the fact that he's begging to be let back into the Barbie Club makes him fair game for ridicule.

In the end there are simply too many griefers dropping at popular clubs just to "try" their nukes, be rude or just plainly stoopid to give any kind of credit to one that (quite comically) comes to the public forums to apologize (instead of sending an IM to the ones that do deserve those apologies).
Dealing with griefers swiftly and radically is definately the best behavioir i could expect from a club owner that cares about his/her regulars.

@Lo: i see where you come from, but honestly i feel that anything called a "nuke" is fairly obvious about it's purpose. I think it's pretty pretentious even for a newbie to think that such object doesn't have ANY negative purpose and that people would be just happy and laughing by being hit by it.
At least this is my experience. SL does NOT look like a PvP oriented world even at first sight, and as such, when i joined, even if i immediately put my paws on some freebie weapons (and shortly after on a Seburo, that looked too awesome to give up), i refrained to just go around shooting at people. After all they're just walking around, chatting and all. Walking at them and shooting at them just to "try" my new toy isn't exactly what i'd call smart and/or polite behavioir.

I honestly would have tried it out as well, thinking in no way would there be anything that would be explosive here.. Well that is what I thought at first :P

Ok you guys remember how silly and embarassing you felt the first time someone passed you the big following penis and you took it out in the middle of some large crowd.

Not that I ever did that. . . Im just saying, im sure it was embarassing. . . .

Hey! I won mine as a door prize, and I had no idea what it did. I do remember it pinning someone's avatar to the wall, but it wasn't my fault!! :o

Not naming names, but I know someone who attached one to her head and let it animate her..thus dragging her along at every target...

If he would have just said he was sorry and didn't give questionable excuses, he might have seemed allright, but he said that he didn't know the crowded room was a crowded room, and that he has extensive experience in multiplayer games and can shoot friendlies with no problem in those.

Can anyone here think of ANY multiplayer game where shooting, bombing, or nuking friendlies is considered okay?

I'd like to know who's giving nukes to newbies. They deserve a ban from crowded clubs.

To the OP: relax, Barbie club is just one club out of hundreds. Just... don't blow up any others. Or shoot people. Or do anyting that you think mught disrupt the enjoyent of others.

i was recommended to this game through a friend from another online game.. i wasnt looking to stay in the training area but to meet my friend.. i ended up runnign into someone that gave me all kinds of cool stuff.. my favorite being a chopper which i shared with a couple other new friends i made.. anyways this thread didnt say TO: a-hole trollers but to: club owners..

Way to make new friends!!
On both counts even:

"Ultimo's Ultimate Guide on Making Friends"

Step 1: Blow them all to hell, then ask that they forgive you because you obviously "didn't realize what a NUKE would do".

Step 2: Call them all "a-hole trollers" because you know thats a sure fire way to display your sparkling personality.

You're doing great so far. *applauds*

That's one I haven't played yet. Are you serious though? Do they only have deathmatch events--meaning, do they have team situations in that game?

Thanks for pointing that out :)

Oh, it's the best FPS out IMHO, Fmeh. If you get a copy and fire it up, give me a shout and we'll frag! Numerous gameplay styles - deathmatch, assault, capture the flag, etc, etc, etc...

In other news: This thread made my day. Good luck Ultimo! Welcome to the Monkey House!

please try to be considerate of your fellow SLers. constructive criticism will bolster a much more positive environment than simply attacking one another with viciousness.
