Perhaps LL changed the rules, but I have contributed tier to our group and I am a basic account holder.
The difference between my owning land and Sam owning land is he is credited for 512 free tier before the dollars get pinged. I have to pay tier on the first 512 then it increases per the tier rate from there. Yes, I was a premium account holder at one time, but I didn't own land when I downgraded to basic, but was still able to hold tier and contribute to the group's land fund. Maybe that is the difference? My land was donated to group. But I did infact pay tier for many months before finally tiering out again. Sorry to interrupt the hijack.. please continue.  - Rose |

Fries, if there is an actual limit to how big your inventory can be, no one has hit it yet. Feel free to keep collecting junk but if you really need to clear space you can always delete (
 ), have a yard sale, or dump things into a prim and label it ("All My Old Shoes" then delete the objects from your inventory and keep the new "container". Drag it out when you need to get something from inside. |

Ok I'm going to be cheap for a second and return this post to on-topic. Back when I owned land, about 2004-ish, I owned land, but was not a premium account, and only after I sold my land did I switch (to non-tier paying premium.) I take it things have changed? Nala, you were here before 1.2. I'm wondering if you are thinking of the land that you had grandfathered? Depending on the type of account we had just before 1.2, there was a certain amount of land that we were able to have on our tier for free as a gift due to the drastic way that land buying changed. I was a monthly payment account at the time. So my account has 1024sm of land that I will *always* be able to use even if I pay no land teir fees (even if I go from premium to basic if I'm not mistaken). Those who got the lifetime accounts have more land that they can use in the same way. Just wondering if that could be why it seems things have changed? _____________________

I have a question that is in regards to this...I have premium account that I downgraded to Basic....my premium time is still good until April..however I have decided that Iwant to keep Premium, but it wont let me change back. Someone had posted that 24 hrs prior to downgrade, I will have to the option to stay Premium. Just wanted to double check and make sure this is a true statement. I emailed support but wanted to check here as well...

There are some people who joined at a certain time who can own land without having a premium account. Me, for instance.
I assume that if I got a premium account I could cancel it and retain my land, still having to pay tier for the land, and only getting the 50 lindens a week. _____________________

People who subscribed before 1.2 get free-land that deducts off their price. I got 1024 or something like that. But I was curious if I downgraded to a basic account, would I lose that freeland if I were to go back to a premium again? I didn't really have any plans of dropping my premium but just in case, I was curious. _____________________

You can create a single prim box, name it old clothes, and drag your old clothing into it. While editing the box, click the "More" button, then click the "content" tab, then drag the items there from inventory. Then take the box into inventory, in objects. |

Inventory is a limitless space, it really can't get full. It can get very unorganized and hard to find items if you don't organize it. I would suggest you start creating folders to organize your objects etc. And that is really the best method. While you can put items inside of a prim, prims are limited to 100 items or so. And even then it is very slow compared to listing your inventory. -DB |
