I am 'verified', but quite a few good friends of mine are unverified and I want to be here for their and your support... Hope I'm welcome. Discrimination is such an ugly thing, no matter which direction it goes in.

I think that the new CC info thing will indeed bring up a LOT of discrimination, as no-one likes griefers on their land, but unfortunately as with all forms of discrimination it also targets the innocent.

This was NOT a smart move on Linden's account.

I'm unverified at the moment. I was tempted to verify, but on following the Paypal link I was instantly suspicious about going further as I would be authorising SL via Paypal to take payments from my registered bank account and/or credit card. As I knew nothing about SL at the time, I held back. I do intend to verify at some stage soon. I'd like to try things out first and see what I think. Some other form of verification would be useful.

I made an 'UNVERIFIED' that hovers above your head that attaches to your chin. I have it in Red and Purple (by request of Gabe Lippman) and will you a +copy/+trans copy if you like. Gabe graciously donated many times the upload cost of a new texture so I'm past the break-even point. =)

Actually, they won't handle it. LL is the one who has opened the door for the so-called discrimination. Luckily, there's an easy way for individual users to avoid being discriminated against.

I..have a confession...I am unverified...and 35!

I have been trying to become verified for a long time now. I try to bring the subject up discreetly at parties but every time I start dropping hints people look at me askance and move away....I am a FREAK!

Please..I need *help*. Can't anyone help me to become verified? Mother is disgusted at me, she tells all her bridge friends that I am still unverified..I can't bear the shame.

I'm a good looking guy, people. tall, buffed up, brown hair, engaging smile. I know that whoever helps me to become verified will really enjoy their side of the experience. And once I get beyond verification, I'm happy to consider a longer term relationship.

This is a discrimination conspiracy that MUST NOT STAND! Second Life is just the tip of the iceberg. Look at World of Warcraft, they are much WORSE! They won't even let you into their world until you are verified and you have sent them money. Talk about discrimination! Everquest and City of Heroes discriminate just as badly. And let's not mention the porn sites and their insidious contribution to this conspiracy.

And then what about sites like Amazon! They let you in all right, but you can't do anything till you give them your credit card. They have all this stuff they are not using that I want, and they won't send me one small item like an iPod without me first giving my credit card.

This is blatant discrimination.

I think each and everyone of us should contact our congressman and the ACLU immediately!
