I was expecting to see Cubey Terra, and Apotheus Silverman or one of the other web shop owners, on that list. It seems strange that Doctorow is there instead.

Not surprised Torley got #1, though. Duh.

Torley at #1? Didn't see that coming...very O. Henry. I would've bet money it was gonna be Philip.

Hahaha, I still think it's hilarious that Cory Doctorow made that list.

BigJohn's sphincter has contributed more to SL than Cory Doctorow.

amirite guys?

The list looks good, cept I might switch Torley and Anshe's place on it. Everyone loves Torley, and with reason, but I'm not sure how much power she/he wields in SL, even now that she's a Linden.

Anshe probably doesn't wield as much power as is attributed to her, but she sure changed the world, though perhaps not for the better, and has certainly worked damn hard at it. But..again..it's just another list.

Oh dear god.

I just read what hamlet said about me. The phrase "the most acrobatic sex imaginable" was mentioned.

Wait, you always throw all those great parties with a flash mob of the whos who of the FIC/FDIC - I went to three of them last week. Oh no,that is Siobhan O'Flynn. Never mind.

Baccara would annihilate you but she would put on a lovely wake for ya, replete with those little 500 prim shrimp cocktail thingies. Kermitt is pretty scrappy - he could distract you with his velvety accent and the promise of a free GameBoy DS, and then whack you over the head with your own magic wand. I would not underestimate him. Granted, you have managed to get perfectly rational people to fork over obscene amounts of money to you so that we can drop cows and Achilles statues on each other, but what money I have left is still on Kermitt.

PS - Siobhan O'Flynn is a wand newbie, and you know what they are like. Please do something about her, it's driving me nuts. I blame you!

i'm very confused about this whole list.

the way it's written, it seems to be more about important innovators who have impacted the game, not really about people with power.

and then by including a linden, a forum moderator at that, it becomes completely nonsensical. can't we all name at least 10 lindens with more power than torley?

i think first we need to answer aimee's question - what is power in SL? how is it wielded?

This list was published on April 25, 2006. Which was several weeks ago. Which is nice, because usually timely topics get brought up on the forum much faster. Which is additionally nice, because I was hoping my name wouldn't be brought up--there are many more Residents who deserve worthwhile discussion.

I doth blogged about it. But I find it cool Part II is so subtle.

I'm shy that way. Full of praise for my fellow avatars, yes.

But power--me? The power of watermelons, yes. I'll leave the talking to others; I really don't know what to say, except for smile and wave. *waves and smiles*

Perhaps the greatest irony of all is because in Second Life, I'm perceived as very chatty and social. Really, I wish it were that way in my first life too. Maybe someday... until then, I'm really just a composite alloy of the good I've experienced here.

And o, noticing the Kotaku graphics are compatible with my favored color scheme:

Mmmm.

Heh, Hamlet's on crack. He might as well have named that list, "the list of people i know".
Seriously. Where are the people behind Electric Sheep? Where's Avalon?

Where is me, the secret power behind all the people he listed?

Ooops.

I just blew my cover.
