I'd tp tothe store, orbit her, then dump her key to a perm-orbie... then ban them for good measure.

Take the high road. You don't have to be mean or confrontational to stand up for yourself.

I'd approach her (in person or IMs) with the assumption that she doesn't know what she's doing is rude and unethical. If she proves herself to be a reasonable person, you can explain in very friendly terms how it's just not a good thing to do. If she acts bitchy, you can very politely say, "I'm sorry you feel that way. I'd hoped we could be reasonable about this." Then Ban/Eject her. Stay on the high road. Always be the kind of person you want to be.

You have fantastic hair, Six, and even though I've strayed out to a few other quality shops, you'll always be my favorite. Finding your hair for newbies program was one of the best days of my Second Life. Thank you for all you do. :)

Six, I don't know if this happens at your store. But I often accompany my partner to ETD (very late nights).

And not one day passes without a bunch of escorts trying to solicit me (hello partner field?). I checked around at that time, and wow, more than 70% of the store was escorts from a certain club. Same deal the next day and the day after.

So that might be something you might want to keep an eye out for too. Cause it's damn annoying when I'm just chilling and some min wager thinks I'd pay for sex0r.

Lmao, I have noticed that too.. guess ETD is the hangout for escorts...

Real-life stores have little 'No Solicitors' signs at the front door or counter. I guess those are mainly to dissuade people from coming in to sell things to the business, but seems like it would apply to customers as well. I don't see any good reason why that person's alleged behavior should be tolerated. Your business, your land (I assume), your right to kick her the heck out.

So today I get Im'd by a customer complaining that theres another customer in the shop stopping everyone and giving them landmarks to her own store and she thought I should know about that. Okay I think that sounds annoying but not real sure how to even go about handling that...

Do I IM the girl shes tellling me about and say that its bothering some of the customers? I feel really uncomfortable doing that especially since I saw in her profile that she is wearing my stuff and I dont want to like offend her or anything , maybe she doesnt know another way to advertise :|

But this has been an issue lately as far as customers coming in and giving out landmarks to other stores etc and I really dont have a problem with that I mean if they are just having a one on one convo with someone and would like to give them info on another place. I think theres a difference between that and just standing around hassling everyone.

Is it ever okay to promote your store in anothers store? Is it rude to tell people where to go to find things in your opinion " better" , etc etc..

Just curious how people feel on this issue.

ughhh, this is so rude. You should ban this chick, there's no need to be nice or IM her and tell her she's bothering the customers. There are many other ways she can advertise, and she knows it. Your shop I'm sure has a ton of dwell and she's taking advantage of that. Especially since your actually getting IMs from customers saying how bothered they are by her. If she IMs you AFTER you had banned her, and asks why, you can THEN tell her... You don't need to put up with that even if she IS wearing your products. Also - you shouldn't even ask if she would like to be on some board, she really doesnt deserve that....if she had asked if it was okay before she went and decided to advrtise in your shop, that would be another story. She is taking advantage of your success, end of story.

The last thing you listed there has happened before :( That was the first and only time I ever had the backbone enough to ban someone and eject them so freaking fast.. I was putting out some new products and a girl was talking to her friend and shes like ' oh man this is the ugliest hair i have seen in my whole life this sh** sucks we need to go to ____" i was like finger shaking on the mouse button couldnt get to it fast enough to get her out of there !!! I felt bad that I didnt ask her to stop first before banning but I have never heard anyone be so freaking mean outloud.. ive heard ppl say -- i dont like this on me -- or i dont like this one , etc.. thats never phased me but she was SHOUTING actually SHOUTING about how its the ugliest and i was like RAWRRR lol..

awww! what bull. You amaze me with the amount of new hair styles you put out... can't believe this person had the nerve to actually shout it. I dont blame you for banning them without confronting them.
You have a great and unique style Six, good luck with your shop...don't let these jerks get to you :)

At first I was thinking that you should just ban her. But then read Zoe's post and it seems to be a nicer approach.

"I would politely IM her and say something along the lines of: "Hello, my name is Six and I own Gurl 6. A customer commented to me that she was rather bothered by your handing out landmarks to your own store while here and I wanted to speak to you about it first.""

She would probably (hopefully) not continue to do this, and if she does then ban her.

I would quietly ban her from your land and then leave ...you don't need to say anything to her, she knows better, I'm sure.

As long as we are doing things quietly, what is so wrong with just as quietly having a POLITE word with her, and simply asking her to Stop. A Little courtesy goes a long way, and this person May not have thought her actions Inapropriate Until someone takes the time to point it out to her.
Be nice, try it. IF she refuses a polite request, and Insists on continuing, THEN quietly Ban her. At least you can say you were reasonable, and Tried.

It's okay, people seem to think I'm an articulate asshole. I'm okay with that actually. Plus I'm like SL famous.
