Since I've only just got my own land, I've taken to making random 'doodles' and sticking things to my neighbour's wall.

Why d'you ask?

This and that. Right at this moment I'm working on a malformed robot. Later probably a concept build type thingy for my own amusement. Still wander and take pics quite a bit. Generally bothering people.

I've been exploring Nexus Prime as of late, tweaking my rat avitar into a nice cyberpunk theme... also have been slacking on getting new stuff into my venders.

I take pictures of gray loading textures and post them on slpics.com.

I never did see the need for a virtual house, and still don't. When I'm not using the program what good is a virtual house doing me?

Building is no fun anymore, the stupid slide sideways to the rulers to use the snap to grid took a lot of the fun of building out; now the cut values won't do what one would want, so you can't make things align properly.

The basic overall look of the place hasn't improved a bit since I joined, so that is kind of dull.

Overall the only really big good change in the program since I started has been custom animations, there have been trivial changes not noticable on the surface and there have been a number of changes for the worse, such as chat bubbles and name text bubbles, mouseover glows, rounded corners on interface elements.

Hoping against all reasonability and evidence that someone will right this ship that looked so damn promising. Oh, and deriving a rubbernecking pleasure at the Chaplinesque follies of the man who slips, tries to stand, fails at that, tries again, etc. It was funny in 1915, this is just a different rendition.

I don't log in to the game much anymore.

I've been insanely busy, and finally dragged a bit out of my seclusion.

First the tulip thing a couple weeks ago, which left me stunned by the response and has now apparently landed in the Herald.

Second, my new sim filled to capacity in an eyeblink with Victorians, Steampunks, and other 19th century folk. Again taking me by total (and pleasant) surprise.

A strange one-two punch of positivity, on a Torleyesque scale.

Why is this world so good to me? I can't figure it out.

Next moves: more items for my shop, and planning the next sim already.

I'm doing less and less. RL is overtaking me and my avie mostly sits in a quiet retreat. But once I get my job-hunting and house-moving finished I'll be back.

SL is still MY virtual home
03-03-2006 06:04
for over two years now i have enjoyed calling second life my virtual home. my 'spread' includes connected land in aqua, blue and grey. i call it 'the commune' and it has become home to about ten people who are renting there. robin peel runs the whole thing for me, she is great. we have ocean front land(where my lovely house sits) and a wonderful lake that has a few houses on it. velckie grace and emma steele have houses on the lake. harry twilight and his beautiful wife stella zapata live in the castle that robin built for them. my husband, omerna bunderfeld, lives in a spaceship above the blue sim. robin has a space pod above that where she lives, and rents out a penthouse to elizabeth barrett. the commune is flourishing!! life is GOOD here in second life!!!!

i have no complaints here.

Yes, it is.

Some days I wish I could quit my day job and sit around in a sandbox all day tormenting prims. My friends who joined SL with me are all still around and log on regularly. Probably too regularly.

Yes, we do love our new Victorian home and our Victorian neighbors.

Do you want to repeat the Tulip thing sometime soon? :D I know just how "Happy" you were when it happened. Mwehehehehe.

Doing in SL...actually owning a house in more than six months in SL, although it's just a cottage since I like my plot to be made into a public garden. Making gowns and learning men's clothes. It's a whole lot of fun for me and it's profitable too.

I'm renting in a beautiful sim, with wonderful neighbors, doing stuff I love and being rewarded for it. What more can this girl want? :)

sure is, but..

hey Merwan! :D

sure SL is still my home away from RL, i just spend an insane amount of time on the forums compared to in-world.. heck, compared to almost anything! lol.. (of course, that was the case long before the ResMod thing started up)

i'm also trying to teach myself how to make full-fledged RAW files, as i would like to branch out in the direction of making custom private island RAW files.

i also keep trying to get around to doing more with my build in Miramare (yes, still!). i thought i had a cool idea, but the prims aren't lining up quite right, so i have to figure out a workaround.

other than that.. occasional exploring. someday i have to get some land for The Quirk to settle down on with the SL:UT offices. (yes, you still get an interview in the first ish. that is if i ever get it running..)

I'm still deleriously happy with Second Life. Granted, rarely do I venture outside of my little bubble at the Shelter - but every day I still meet someone new, or learn something I hadn't known before.

Its not perfect, SL indeed has its annoyances. But my passion certainly hasn't waned yet :)

Not much Merwan - my last build was a Canadian Goose at Christmas and I made some miniture Roses at Valentines day. I get ideas but I'm still trying to get my RL house unpacked and organized and SL has lost some of it's zest for me. Lately, hubby has been in more than I have, he LOVES t 2 t.

What are you up to? You haven't said - anything exciting??? :)

I generally hang around sandboxes, getting a ton of stuff ready for sale. I'm also working on making some Popeye avs. Building in SL is a blast, just as fun now as it was when I first started.
