Security scripts can be a real drag.

I've been out of SL for a while, but I came back recently and I've discovered that a certain problem hasn't disappeared. Security scripts attacking vehicles.

I was in a sub today, and I get a message that I'm not authorized to be in some guy's area and I had six seconds to get out. So now I'm wondering how big this parcel is, and how far I'd have to go to avoid a problem, and why this guy thinks his house is so important that it needs to be protected from disinterested people who are merely passing by.

Granted, there may be an ego boost or something for the owner, but where's his pride in building? Even if I wanted to see his house (and I didn't... I didn't even know which one it was because I was underwater at the time) I couldn't admire the build.

In the end, it's his land and his scripts, etc., etc. But I shouldn't be at risk of crashing a vehicle and possibly SL just so someone can puff out his chest and brag about how secure his little beach house is.

This time I apparently I passed through the corner of his land or something, because I wasn't bumped. But there have been times when I was flying around and suddenly BAM! I was bumped and crashed.

Has this issue been discussed recently? Have any solutions been presented? I'd be happy if someone could just post a link to the relevent thread.
