The God Mode console window is indicating it is receiving unexpected packets, and attempting /god in chat to enable GM results in the client spitting you out for bad packets. People happy they can't be mapped to the right, those unhappy their camera and editing range is crippled (again) to the left. Thank you.

It would be nice if Linden Lab would just unshackle the camera already (Philip said he would probably do this) so we wouldn't even need a "god mode" hack.

There's been protocol changes.
Give it a few days for libsecondlife to be updated to reflect these, and then God Mode will be recompiled with the new library.

From: Burnman Bedlam Cameras should not pass through prims that you don't own, or don't have mod rights too either. That would be the perfect solution. While parcel limits, yes, they can view landscaping, if it was by prims then a house would be more private and we would find less security orbs and whitelist banlines.

I think it's cute that people are so modest about screwing each other in a video game.

I actually don't participate in pixel-humping, but I can certainly understand why people want to be left alone from time to time. I think it's cute that so many people get upset when they can't watch other people screw each other in a video game. lol

I don't care who watches me for the most part - but theres times I want privacy for various reasons. Its weird. I hate people touching my stuff, even virtually, but don't care if they see me 'pixel humping.'
different sense maybe?

I think it's cute that so many people get upset when they can't watch other people screw each other in a video game. lol I can't really imagine anyone going around watching people do that. They have clubs and groups that even cater to that stuff. But then again, I suppose there are some really creepy people in SL. Cameras not being able to go through objects that aren't yours is a nice thought, but would really do more harm then good and wouldn't stop people from being able to look into buildings. Just disable object rendering and you get a peek-a-boo into anything you want. I just want to be able to build a city 300 meters in the sky without the use of multiple platforms and the likes.

From: Tyken Hightower This is absolutely ridiculous. Have you even thought about what you're asking for? Yep. It would be nice to flag certain prims as a wall, which would prevent the cam from passing through them. I didn't start a feature request proposal campaign, I just think it would be nice.

You've thought about how it'd be a total mess for camera navigation, much less griefing? Hey, I'm sure it's fine if people rez huge shit that blocks your view to the point where you can't even figure out what's going on, right? Do you walk around in mouselook all the time or what? I enjoy being able to move my camera through whatever the heck I so choose if it gets me a better view of my surroundings, or saves me from having to walk all the way around someone's ill-designed architectural hell-hole in search of products.

From: Persephone Milk A lot of people have thought about what Burnman is asking for. I personally believe that a lot of options for games that could be created in SL, or other applications for the platform, are limited by opening up too much freedom without the ability to OPTIONALLY disable certain options on land one owns. It's great for exploring, but not so great when it's used for cheating during a game.

Well, if someone is rezzing huge blocks on my land, I'd simply return it. If they rez it around my land, that's when I post in Land Management and file an AR. Make it a prim flag like lighting and flexi.

Landowners should have more options to determine what happens on there parcels, to better design games/applications that can actually have more function than eye candy in a virtual 3D chat room.

Make it a prim flag like lighting and flexi. Suppose someone shot you with a cage gun, or any even rezed a cage around you in a place that wasn't your land. At least you are thinking of possible solutions to a problem, but this particular one wouldn't work. Specially when someone can just disable object rendering and peek into any house they please.

Entitlement or not, I haven't been here that long, and as far as I can tell, you haven't either, but even in this amount of time I can see nice things that are disappearing. Every other game or virtual world is based on a highly restricted environment, structure, rules, things already hard-coded into the game. SL is really nice in that those things don't exist on basic levels. It's possible to create some structure, like you say, but for the most part I'd rather have the freedom aspect intact, especially when it comes to the mainland sims.
