My referer was filled in as well ;0 It said Torley Linden !! ;0 <3

I think the browser remebers form data and the referer name could be using a generic ref id ;0

If that always meant a Linden name automatically dropped in that would be one thing. The name I got (and tested twice on different days, once even after doing cleanup on my computer) is a person not connected to LL, just an ordinary resident. If it's using a generic ref id, why am I getting the same name both times?

Your browser remembers form data connected with the ID for the input tag... so it automaticly puts the form data there..

No I understand that (probably)... but if I never put it there in the first place and never followed any links created by this person, why would the name ever be there? (I'm sorry please, I'm not arguing with you, I really am just computer challenged enough not to understand this :o )

Is it possible that LL has it set up so that random residents names are automatically inserted in the referal line? LL hasn't answered me about this in the Answers forum.

Something strange...

I just went to create an account and while filling in the information I noticed that a name was already filled in to the referral box. You know the space where it asks who referred you so that person can get a bonus if you go to premium. Well the name that was already showing in the referral box was someone I have heard of and have seen on these forums, but not someone I've ever met much less been referred by. I did not go through any links created by this person either, I went through the regular sign up page.

Anyone know how is it that this person's name was already in that box? If I hadn't been aware of the process enough to notice, it would have gone through automatically and she would have recieved a bonus if I went to premium.

I always suggest people use this link to sign up new accounts in SL, I hear you get more money that way.

The point is the id of the input field may be very generic like "name" or something similar I know i've entered Torley Linden into numerous form areas before ;0 If any of their id matched the referal ID your browser may try to remember that input and insert it to make completing other forms easier

That said, I've yet to take the time to confirm this theory..

I wish I could say the person's name here but I can't. Starts with M...is NOT a Linden and not connected with LL.

Oh what happens is, if you go to her site, then follow the link back to SL, she has the re-seller ID slapped on there M with the thought provoking blog right?

Eg: if you make a link like this.
