HUD showing up in snapshots

Is it just me or does anyone else think its annoying to have your HUD show up in the snapshots? I saw in the release notes that ppl were requesting it, I cant understand why, and I cant belive enough ppl asked for it to warrant the change. Hopefully if enough ppl say somthing they can make a toggle switch in the settings so everyone is happy.

Err... unless they changed it very recently, there should be a toggle in the little snapshot bar that says "show HUD in next snapshot." Switch that off to not have it show up.

If they removed that, I'll be worried.

Edit: OH, those HUDs. My mistake.

That doesn't remove any HUD displays from screenshots, Jeffrey. It's supposed to be a feature, they say.

Personally, I don't like it. I'd really like some way to take pristine screenshots again.

Go to this thread in Feature Suggestions. And chime in.

They decided to make this the DEFAULT. I don't think even the folks who suggested "HUD's sans UI" in snapshots would agree that making this a default, non-option was wise.

The workaround for now is to either detach your HUD's or use some script to command them to be invisible or not. But for me, trying to make a portfolio with all these extra steps is annoying. I'm already wasting 3 seconds of my life when making the camera controls viewable. :p

So I hope they make this feature something I can turn off and return to normal. For now, my snapshots are snapshits. :(

Yeah, strange "feature" to add, especially with the brilliant suggestion of "if you don't want the HUD to appear in the snapshot, detach the HUD first". Oh yeah, that's convenient. Why does LL never, ever learn to make forced changes like this optional?

yeah even if enough ppl wanted it why would it be default, no one wants it in their pictures of their friends (OH wait hold that funny pose! I have to take my hud off to snap the pic!)or even when I'm taking pictures of clothes for posters....very annoying. Waste of dev time if you ask me, seems like this feature was created for the few not the many

It doesn't work right with Hi-res snapshots either... I tried taking one the other day and the HUD attachment I had on tiled itself multiple times across the entire image, rather than upscaling like everything else does.

Please, chime in at that thread which Lash cited--I've been showing it to the devs.

I myself find optional, default OFF to be a good idea, and Tiger Crossing has a useful layout too.

Voices of the community will help, don't miss out!

Why does this thread get to stay in General?

Whee, resmodding the resmods is my new favorite SL activity. I'll raise you that it is actually Feature Feeback.

I agree with Siggy, it's a technical support issue.

I would agree with you if it weren't for the whole fact that this is actually a feature by design, not a bug. Their advice currently is to remove the HUD if you don't want it to show in the picture.

beleive it or not I'm not being a smartarse about that - theres already a thread in that topic about this selfsame thing.. nearly identically named.

As for the moderation - I think its been overly agressive on piddly lil things.. a flexing of cyberwhang if you will.

I see your point Cris, it is indeed Feature Feedback. My original question stands. Why is it still in General?

And Siggy, and well yes moving on
