First I'll offer this link to those who aren't already aware of the changes...

/108/aa/116503/1.html

Fortunately we do now have the whole month again instead of just two weeks. Yay! :)

One of the changes is that now we can see every single 0L$ transaction and every single "give inventory" transaction. Today my transaction history shows dozens of 0L$ sales (freebie boxes) a half dozen or so inventory trades between myself and friends and close to 2 dozen 10L$ uploads (I was making a set of outfits in multiple sequin textures, turned out great! :D ) This means though that I had to scroll through all of this to pick out the actual customer transactions to add them to my records, which was a bit tedious.

But I realize, I may very well be the only one who is at all annoyed by this. So before I start really b**ching and moaning (hehe) I figured it was poll time.

So whatcha think? Yay, nay, don't give a dam?

It would be nice if we could toggle the "zero transactions" on and off. That way it would be easy to see what you have sold, then you can toggle it on and see all the freebies you gave away.

I like it (and yes we should be able to turn on or off) - as I can see what are sent to me when not logged on.. as the software dont make it..

I log on and are unware IF I have got any sent to me when I was away..

It'd say it's good for those us who do XLS graph banging. (You can never have enough data...)

Bad for those who like to scan their records by hand. (A lot of extra clutter.)

Personally, I like it. Give Inventory would be more useful if it actually had the item name as the description though. *cough*

UPDATE: Oh, appearently the sold-for-0$L has been in the XLS data for a while now. Hmm, I might start using this to build reports instead of relying upon my vendors...

I like having the "sold for L$0 info
06-30-2006 07:35
When I put my free house out at the Bazaar, I put it in a vendor so I could track who picked it up. But it's a hassle for the buyers, since they have to pay the vendor at least L$1 (which they get back, but still...) Now that the L$0 transactions are reported, I will change it to a simple item for sale. (I want to know who has the houses so that I can offer them fixes if necessary.)

I also like being able to download a single spreadsheet that covers a date range rather than a single day.

I didn't like the change from 30 days of history to two weeks. But the Lindens changed that back -- bravo!

We love listening and responding to our Residents.

Morpheus Linden worked his wizardry on the website Transaction History.

As a result of this and other feedback, effective today, there's a checkbox so you can choose whether to display L$0 transactions or not. There are a few other nice tweaks too. :)

Some have also requested that the names of Give Inventory items be shown. This is also on the todo list and I don't have a time for it, but just wanted to let you know we're paying attention!

They added a check box to exclude the L$0 transactions. It's all good in my book now.

I like that you can see 0L$ transactions, perhaps if they had a button to have them on or off could be useful:)

XML Download flaw
07-07-2006 09:39
I'm glad they brought back (true) XML download of transactions as well, but (IMO) the XML format is incorrect. Each transaction 'row' tag includes the transaction ID, such as

<transaction_51768285>
<id>51768285</id>
<type>Upload Charge</type>
<description></description>
<payment>10</payment>
<time>2006-07-07 09:20:24</time>
<resident>SYSTEM</resident>
<end_balance>#######</end_balance>
</transaction_51768285>

The <transaction_51768285> and </transaction_51768285> should NOT include the numbers because the information is redundant and makes it tougher to parse. Including the numbers makes each tag a NEW tag rather than a regular expression type thing. Please begin and end each transaction entry with <transaction> and </transaction>.
