As many of you know, in New York City, there is "the gates" in central park.
Maybe N'Burg could have its own presentation of "the gates", by placing some of the gates in its streets.
The gates will definitely bring some tourists to N'burg.
The gates are sold for free by Aestival Cohen, at her shop in Grange ((158,107)
Also, feel free to add your ideas in this thread!

I'd like to bring up the idea of public executions....they're fun for the whole family and should bring in a lot of traffic......need a scripted guillotine and a vonunteer.....

From: Eugene Pomeray I would just like to confirm if it is ok to place "the gates" in N'burg. Go for it! As a member of the Artisan's Guild I will sponsor you to do a temporary art display in the city. Let me know when it's done. I'd love to check it out. ~Ulrika~

Doesn't this need approval of either the guild or the ra?
*waits for constitutional person to arrive*

*waits for constitutional person to arrive* Its innocuous at best and could only be good for the city so I dont see a problem with it....by the time the RA gets done with it we'll have one gate 2 months from now being displayed for 5 minutes...but I highly doubt anyone will come to see it ...there are gates everywhere in world now and once ya seen one.....

From: Roberta Dalek Doesn't this need approval of either the guild or the ra? Yes and maybe. I'm a member of the Guild in charge of sales infrastructure, some buildings, and all things fun. That's why I sponsored Eugene's installation as a Guild member. There's no work required from me, it's free, and it's fun! From the perspective of the RA, this is a gray area between personal liberty and RA authority as well as Guild authority and RA authority. In theory the RA should really only affect the city from a high level through long-term planning, laws, and budgets. The guild should be responsible for day-to-day builds and activities, such as working with folks to set up and support new events or adding new items to the vendor. This display is a bit of a gray area as there will be many structures and they will be up for a while. A protest or event is short (no RA approval required), a new structure is semipermanent (RA approval required), this is right in between. Additionally, this is a question of distributed authority. Do we want an RA which is the ultimate authority, where we must ask permission before any changes are made, or do we adhere to a distributed model of authority where different branches have the right to move forward without immediate approval of other branches (the other branches could seek to correct the actions of other branches but only through defined avenues such as laws and vetos)? In short this could be resolved with a bill to clarify regulation on short term events to help draw the line where the Guild ends and the RA begins. ~Ulrika~

As you stated this is Guild territory. The RA should only deal in pemenant answers such as the casino. As far as temporary structures or art shows there should be no involvement from the RA ...that is unless there are grounds that the event or semi permanent structure is deemed detrimental to the city in wich case we will pass an asshat law and hold public executions to warn others

We are the Artisan's Guild, so I dont have a problem with the installation.
However, has anyone got rid of those snowmen that were littering the streets?
Roberta has raised a good question though. We have all been watching the RA argue about how they do things, and havnt thought about it ourselves.
Kendra did put together a proposal about how we could use a Meister Apprentice system (Fitting in with the theme of the City), I'll dig out the post later.
Have nothing better at the moment, I suggest we try and see how agreement could be reached using that system:
Ulrika is a Meister. She can take Eugene as an apprentice. Under those conditions I see nothing wrong with Ulrika agreeing a temporary art installation by her apprentice.
If anyone in the guild is unhappy with that, a Meister should talk to Ulrika about it. If they cant reach agreement, the two Meisters should bring it to me.
How does that sound?
