Thanks for the info on that, Seldon. Yes, it's a bit bothering, but not too much so. Perhaps the "newspaper vendor" is able to IM or whisper to the buyer a small warning telling them that the newspaper may need some time to "startup" properly and to contact the Editor if something goes wrong That should suffice, I think. As for more ideas for names... Die Neualtenburger Zeitung (voted Least Original Title) Das Neualtenburger Tagesblatt (which may be a misnamer, since it won't be a daily newspaper!) Der Neualtenburger Spiegel or Neualtenburger Stern (following Germany's leading magazine names hehe)

From: Seldon Metropolitan yea, I will include the apporpriate warnigns once we're at that point. how about Neualtenburger Leuchtfeuer? does that have any connotations Im not aware of? I finally logged in and checked out the paper. As a scripted object, it's absolutely brilliant. It was a lot of fun to open up and read. I'd love to contribute some work, including putting together the final image (typesetting the content). As for the name, I preferential towards "Neualtenburger Zeitung" myself, however, I'm intrigued by the "Neualtenburger Leuchtfeuer" (it has no other meaning that I'm aware of). We could vote, if there's a controversy. I'd also love to see a Fraktur font for the title (Kendra has and gave me a Luftwaffe font that's perfect). ~Ulrika~

Just doing a quick google I can't find any actual German language papers with Leuchtfeuer in the title, so I guess it comes down to how important cultural "authenticity" is or isn't.

I'd say, it's not that important. Neualtenburg is more theme-inspired than a true recreation, although I'd say that so far we have kept to the theme pretty well.

Hehe Seldon — sorry for the "tyranny" in the picking of the name... I really saw that a tiny group was for the name, and the effort of looking it up to see if it had some "bad connotations" (and finding none) was a pretty good argument for me to pick that name. Also, I was a bit stressed about the timeline for announcing the events — it seems we barely managed to get them out just before the Winter Festival started. Sorry for that. If you all prefer a different name, there is still time to change them on the events list. If all goes well, I'd like to ask you to officially submit the event on the Events List (the sooner, the better). As for contributions, hmm, I'm obviously very interested in participating somehow, I'll drop you a few IMs with ideas for you to see what fits best. Also, after the "official launch", I'd love to put the newspaper announced on the official in-world newspapers list. Hmm I'm sure I saw that list somewhere on the site yesterday (only the Metaverse Messenger was announced there), but sadly, I can't see it today...

okay. totally not going to make the deadline this week. better now than after launch. going to spend this week tightening up the design and securing advertising and Im shooting for next week with great optimism. got hit by my first cold of the year, and have been working crazy hours, so havent been able to perform at the pace I wanted to.

Aww I'm really sorry to hear you're not better, Seldon! Well, I hope you get well soon, it's no fun spending the holiday celebrations in bed with a cold... so take care, and relax, don't overstress yourself, and all the rest can certainly wait! Aliasi has set up an "alternative" event at 2 PM anyway It's always great to have another round of Primtionary!

Yeah, I bought one of the "below wall" parcels that don't seem too popular for prim-land.
