Dear Friends and Citizens,

It is with regret that I must announce my departure from Neualtenburg. I wish you all well, and hope to see my friends in another place soon.

God bless you.

I'm sad to see you leave, but I do hope you'll remain in contact. I'd miss ya way too much if ya didn't :)

Dear Garnet,

as much as I regret your departure as you were a very creative citizen in terms of setting up events like parties, I am pretty sure that we will stay in contact.

It is a shame to see you go. The goal of the project is to bring together many individuals with disparate viewpoints and have them reach consensus through a shared governmental system. Having differences is normal and encouraged. Through departure one loses their chance to affect change.

Might I suggest that "desertion" is an extremely inappropriate choice of word to describe an individual's departure from an entity defined by principles of free association?

"Desertion" suggests that the obligations which a citizen has agreed to by joining the entity of Neualtenburg have not been met, and therefore some violation of those commitments has occurred.

In fact, none has. Neither with Garnet's departure nor with the several which have preceded it.

This thread is a great chance for me to rub some salt in the wounds of Ulrika. I could get in a jibe to pay her back for the stuff she said about burning Bibles. But I'm not going to. In exchange for my silence let's hope she swallows one of her insults against Christians, rather than letting it out onto the forums.

Yeah I thought so. Maybe it'll inspire her to be nicer. We can but try.

Well I also am sad of course.
Although living/working beside you in two other sims kind of takes the edge off of it. :)

I only hope this isn't a trend.
What happened to Yogiswari and some of the others?
People have left already that I have never met!
:(

Jsecure, this forum has remained essentially free of trolling and personal attacks since its inception. In the future I will delete all threads and posts that exist to disparage, attack, or troll. If you have a personal grievance with a member, you have the following options:
  1. Contact those with whom you have grievances directly by email (Ulrika.Zugzwang@gmail.com).
  2. Seek redress through our governmental system (example).
  3. Discuss the topic in a professional manner.
  4. Post or say whatever you want in General or Off-Topic.

I think it's a terrible precedent to set, bringing external personal conflicts into the city.

I believe this is motivated by ideological reasons, ones that prevent someone from participating in a cooperative with someone else whose views she doesn't share or comments she doesn't like. Or am I mistaken and this is just someone who has moved on without any specific motivation?

Stupidest. Post. Ever.

You said people should burn the Bible! You expect people to not be annoyed with you for that! And furthermore, I never attacked you, I just said I hope you'd be nice in future. I'd say that's closer to a request. And another thing, does this LOOK like a city to you? This is a forum!

Look, be nasty to others in the forums if you like, but you reap what you sow in life. Tell a load of Christians that everyone should burn their Bible on Monday, and don't expect them to smile at you on Tuesday.

I think you need to grow up. You are acting like a child.

I deleted a post by Jsecure that had escalating personal attacks.

Please keep personal attacks out of the forum. If you have a problem with a citizen, please send them an email directly, follow proper procedures, or take it out of the N'burg forum.

I believe characterizing a person who left Neualtenburg in good conscience as a deserter is a personal attack.

It wasn't a personal attack Ulrika. But it was a post with truths in it. You keep deleting your posts. If you're such a strong person, why do you need to delete posts. Surely you're strong enough to take it. Or perhaps not.

If you can't take the consequences of your words and actions, maybe you should stay here in this dark corner of the forums, where you can censor everyone's words.

Jsecure, you're are about five minutes away from being banned from this forum. I will not tell you again to take your personal grievances out of this forum. You can say whatever you want to me by email (I have given it many times) or in the Off-Topic forum. There will be no trolling or personal attacks here. Period.

It's just a shame I can't ban you from the general forum. Why not ban me. I have no interest in you or your projects.

Garnet, I am very sorry to see you go. I did not know you well, but you seemed to me to be one of the few citizens of Neutaltenburg without a personal agenda, other than being nice, fun, and eager to participate in civic events.

Good luck to you.

I really can't speak for Garnet but I am almost certain that ideology had nothing to do with it.

I guess its possible to look at almost any action someone may take however, and discern an ideological motivation in it, for we are all somewhat driven by our personal ideological stances.

Pardon me. But you are not a citizen of Neualt. And while I don't give a flip what you say about one of our citizens outside our walls, I'll be damned if I'll not say that you have no say inside our forums against a citizen. Go back to your own world.
