I'm coordinating the N'Burg Christmas events and I need help

Howdy Neualtenburgers!

I've been tapped by Sudane and Kendra to coordinate the upcoming Christmas events in our lovely town. I'll be packaging all the events planned into one cohesive campaign and then promoting the hell out of it to the general popluation.

I had a great conversation with Kendra last night and am excited to be helping out. I'll be at the RA meeting today to get more details, but I would also appreciate it if anyone planning anything for the holidays posts about it here.

Tell me what you have planned, for when & where, and any other details that I might want to know.

Thanks for your help, Kelt :) We should have the list of events ready as soon as possible to as to start the promotion immediately — I'm thinking mostly of the "free advertising" by Linden Lab as we integrate Neualtenburg's Winter Festival in the overall Linden festival, but also to get in touch with all the spots where we can get/buy ad space.

I also think that it's best to get the rough overview on most of the events we discussed Sunday (almost one per day!) and start advertising that, instead of waiting for further events to appear. These can still pop up spontaneously; but we definitely need the overall plan being annouced, ASAP...

Hi again,

Just *bumping* this thread again, because the time is running out...

We have until today (Dec, 12th) at 3 PM SLT to provide the Lindens with a complete list of events, so that we may get included in the overall Winter Festival.

I'm hoping that Sudane is able to post the transcript soon (I sadly didn't make a copy :( ) so that Keltrien is able to send that to [email]jeska@lindenlab.com[/email] (or on a notecard to Jeska Linden). She asks us to submit "date, time and location of the event, along with a brief description".

What I think is that during last Sunday's RA meeting, we had several events that we could set up "date, time, and location", and if these are all that we are able to submit "officially", well, that's better than the alternative — nothing at all!

I'll *try* to be in-world today, around 2 PM or so, if some last-minute things need to be done.

Keltrien, I'm sorry to be "overriding" your help :-( Please don't take it against me, but I was really concerned that we wouldn't make it on the deadline for the Linden Winter Festival. So, I managed to get Jeska's attention, and while we're a bit over the deadline really, she might still consider our proposal...

Sunday, Dec 18th, 2 PM
Description: Church Meeting @ Neualtenburg
Always non-denominational, and free to attend, no matter what your religion/beliefs/philosophy is. We'll talk a bit about one of the most famous sayings ever: "Love your neighbour as you love yourself", which appears under several forms in several religions and philosophy systems. For some, it's the Single Rule that matters most. In this holiday season we will be discussing what this old saying actually *means*

Kelt sent the missing one (sorry about that, Kelt, I completely forgot that, and even with Sudane's quick review — she was the only one online! — we both missed it on the transcript) directly to Jeska, so we *might* get an additional one listed ;)

We'd also like a, uh, "victim" to create a sign that could spew out a notecard with these events, to have them visible at the Marktplatz. And then it's up to you guys to list those events on the "normal" event list — and promote them :D

The sign in the Platz is up, and there's a notecard in it based on the event listing here. As things change, please let me know, and I can change the sign very quickly. I can change the notecard, too, but that should be accessible to anyone in the Raumnutzung group. If you need an invite for that, please let me know.

The sign DOES NOT have times, only days. The notecard has the times.

Oh Kelt — take a look at Eugene's proposal: /103/9c/75301/1.html

Basically, what we need is to organize people to suggest nominees for each category, and, on the Award's Day, have a host to call out the names and the achievements under each category, suggest a way to discuss the achievements and a procedure to vote upon them, while the rest of the attendees cheer ;)

The nominees should also be properly invited in advance to attend, of course :)

Discussing things via PM is fine for me — or IM's in-world later, when I'll be able to login from home. No wait — I just remembered that we'll have two events later hehe. Well, perhaps we can meet in N'burg between one and the other event and talk a bit? This is really Eugene's idea, I miss him :-(

Do we have volunteers to do a nice "award certificate" or something like that? :) Suggestions for a statue or similar silly object to be presented to the winners in each category are welcome. We should name it the "Haney", according to our silly traditions (for the ones that don't know it, Haney Linden, now currently working for omidyar.net and not with LL any more, was the Linden that helped us set up Neualtenburg in the first place), or, eventually, the "Chicken" ;) But of course you can suggest something more serious if you wish... hehe :D

Hmm, it seems that we need to cancel the Awards Cerimony. Ah well. We'll have an opportunity to do it when Eugene returns.
