2nd Annual Winter Festival - Winter Expo Winners!

Join Linden Lab for the second annual Winter Festival! Linden Lab is planning to hold our annual celebration this winter season and will be revealing more details very soon! In the meantime, here’s two special ways for Residents to become part of this year’s Winter Festival, to be held from December 14 until December 21st!

1. Participate in the Winter Expo
Once again, we are offering small parcels for you to build winter-themed creations. The Winter Expo area is reserved for those who want to build snow and ice sculptures and other winter holiday tradition creations. This winter version of Burning Life (Burning Snow?) will rise up near the Ski Chalet at Wengren 20, 200. We will try to accommodate all requests in a limited space so the size of plots and number of prims will be relative small.

If you would like to participate in this event, simply post to this thread by Wednesday, December 7th, at 2 pm PST/SLT. Names will be selected via a blind drawing. Nova Linden will be handing out the plots – please direct all questions to her! Read more about the Winter Expo here .


2. Host a Linden Approved Event
We will have several Linden-sponsored events during the festival, but we want YOU to become involved. Perhaps you’d like to have a best dressed Santa Costume Party? Or maybe a Winter Holiday Themed Parade? Whatever your winter traditions are, please submit your event ideas directly to Jeska Linden, the best events will be listed alongside the ‘official’ Linden Winter Festival Events and be part of this years Winter Festival! All events must be winter-themed, PG in nature and abide by the Community Standards. Events must occur during the Winter Festival (12/14 – 12/21), be free events and available for all Residents to attend. They must also be actual events and not yard sales, etc - see the event posting rules for clarification on what an event is if you have any questions.

Please submit your events to Jeska Linden (in-world im or email [email]jeska@lindenlab.com[/email]) no later than Monday, December 12th. Please include the date, time and location of the event, along with a brief description. The goal of this project is to allow the whole community to participate in the Winter Festival!

You can claim your plot by taking the following steps:

1. Open the world map, enter the name "Zermatt" in the "Find Region" section.
2. Enter the coordinates listed for your plot in the two boxes below, same order.
3. Teleport to the hub in Zermatt and fly to your location.
4. Right click the parcel and select "About Land".
5. Click the "Buy Land" button and you're ready to get building!

Sorry if this seems overly simplistic, but I want to make sure that everyone, including our first year Festers know what's up. If you have any further questions or you are a basic subscriber, please contact me in-world and I will get you set up in a special group so that you can build without land purchase.
