What would you do if you owned Omega Games?

Omega Games has been a great project of mine for many months (since April) and is the most successful Casino enterprise within SL.

So the question becomes: What would you do if you owned Omega Games?

Responses must be emailed to sl@amaprotu.net for consideration.

Groups are welcome to respond as well as individuals.

Deadline for responses is midnight December 1.

What will my Game Czar successor get?
- 1 week with mod permissions for all my stuff and that of Alek Wu. Durring this time it is recommended you take copies of all items we own in the Arcades.
- Instructions as to any particulars in opration of the casino
- All land under the Casinos, currently Taber, Mocha and Coney.
- Some starting capital to make sure you can cover bets placed on games.
- Extras as required to transfer ownership of objects etc.
- Ownership of the Omega Games group.
- A transition party event, gauranteed to have a good show out.

The end result will be that you will own Omega Games and all that is in it.

This is not a gauranteed winner situation, I reserve the right to decide that no submission will win.

Recomended skills, traits etc of a good successor(s):
- Scripting skills
- Resident for more than 1 month
- Enthusiasm and time to spend with the Enterprise

If you have any questions, comments or concerns those are welcome below or via email, but submissions are only accepted via email (sl@amaprotu.net).

Thank you and good luck!

It sounds that way, and if it's true, wtf?

I never really knew ama personally, but his arcades were always a welcome site in world. Maybe he's just passing on the reins of Omega Games and gonna retire to Brown living in a pre-fab house by the beach. Or maybe in Green, living off the land right next to the lake.

Alek's and my own main focus is switching from SL to some other time-suckers (FFXI). I have learned from DarkWood and other projects that large enterprises suffer without lots of attention in SL. So we are passing on the reigns of the projects in hopes that they will continue to grow and prosper.

I assume you are going to work on something else Ama, and not leave Second Life?

I'd post the sourcecode in the scripting library and encourage people to use it.

Hmm

When I think about it, none of the source code I use is exploitable just by people kowing it, so that really might not be a bad thing. I can think of two exceptions and one of them is a game not out any more.

Timming was off Dave! It was shortly after you moved on from the Atlas that I realized I need to get this taken care of.... and that you wouldn't take it from me. heh

F.A.Q. - There have been a couple misconceptions I wanted to clear up.

1. How long will I own Omega Games for?
- FOREVER! Seriously, I will be giving over omega games to you in its entirety. The 1 week time period is in reference to a time frame durring which you will have modify permissions to my objects. Durring that time we will also work on transfering all objects and Land over to you or your group.

2. What if I'm not rich enough?
- No initial investment required!! The details will be worked out with the person who inherits Omega Games, but there is absolutely no financial requirement. The future of omega games may work best if you are not heavily involved (financially and time wise) in other projects, which is a consideration for my choosing of the winner.

Thanks!

I would expand Omega games into such a big place it would need it's own sim! I would look down apon Omega Sim from my throne of money and people... not really... I would do the 1st part though.

I sent an email but didn't put my last name in it. It's from khamon@sakoia.net and my last name is Fate.

I think I may never get used to having an avatar with a last name. Is the room spinning?

Actually your email (I am assuming its yours since I have first and last names on all others) had no name, and no email in the 'from' header.

In this case I'm gonna have to say to be considered you need to resend it. :) sl@amaprotu.net

Thanks. :)

What will happen to the stocks I own in the Money Well? I've made a couple bucks on those stocks since I started and it would be a shame if that ceased.

And in other news, what is going to happen to Darkwood? Ama owns and controls substantial portions of it and it is one of the only sims I've found so far that I wanted to become a part of the community of.

Darkwood definatly has an exciting future. DarkLife of course is and will be huge, and while it has a life of its own it is part of DarkWood too. As for the village and Darkwood that isn't DarkLife, Eve Cartier is the new master of everything. :) She has some excellent plans and good vision, and is a great person. So it should all work out for the good.

I will probably be in bed at 12:00 tonight, and I won't have results tomorrow probably. By the end of the week I will though for sure, if not sooner.

As for the stocks I have been debating that myself. I already closed one well and paid everyone the going rate for all stocks owned (ie they all made money). I could do that for the Taber one as well, or I could leave it open. In large I think it will depend on my successor and how they feel about it. The stock system was actually something I had planned on extending out, I envisioned a sub-game or uber-game where many different arcade/gambling games had stocks. Thus creating a stock market with prices that fluctuated more and choices and everything. In the end I focused my attention else where, and it turned out not as many of my games were as suitable to the stock system as I had hoped.
