From: Hypatia Callisto <snip>Actually... I've always wished we could build this way for SL buildings... be able to apply our own light mapping and have the structure IGNORE the SUN except what you place inside it yourself For Windlight, would be even more useful. I can feel a Jira post coming on for me now Have you tried the Full Bright checkbox? It has exactly this effect.

Prim import to Maya
07-09-2009 11:31
Im trying to find out how to import an XML file to Maya, I've looked on the forums and can't seem to find much. Im trying to export a non-sculpted prim from SL and bring it into Maya so that I can do some baked lighting textures on it, and also bake a shadow texture for under the prim object.
so does anyone know how to get an XML into Maya, or XSI, or lightwave or anything. Or is there anyway to get an .obj out of SL?
Thanks Lars

Thanks Lars There are any number of ways to get Maya to pull data from an XML file. Here's one example: http://www.highend3d.com/maya/downloads/mel_scripts/utility_external/import/xml-lib-mel-4008.htmlBut just so you know, you don't need the actual prims to do what you're trying to do. All you need to do is create similar geometry in Maya. I do it all the time. If you've got money to burn, you might want to check out SLTK Pro. It provides a 2-way conduit of sorts, between Maya and SL. http://www.simtools.jp/sltk/en/index.phpIn any case, unless I'm missing something, this is a different topic from the subject of this thread. It probably would have been better to start a new thread with it, rather than tack it on to this one.
