Theme Americana

The best of the USA, from Miami Beach to L.A. and everything in between. New England, Chicago, Vegas, beaches, state and Federal parks, monuments, historical sites, the 20’s, 30’s, 60’s, modern times, anything and everything that helped make our country great (and maybe the not so great).

Come join the Route 66 team as we move into Stage Two of our vision. Contact any of the following team members for more info or post here. A formal proposal will follow soon.

Oooo... I think this sounds good, it could be like a time warp as you walk down the street. Except with less dancing people wearing purple shirts and tuxes... (very obscure reference.. I know)

Which part was obscure?

It's just a jump to the left...

Last night we had a great meeting. Here are some highlights.
Americana, a whole sim dedicated to various eras and locals of America's wild history to include:

An expanded Route 66 with drive-in movie theatre, 5 and Dime Store (aka Woolworth's early 1960's)

Roswell, New Mexico and the infamous Area 51

Detroit - Motor City!

Gangland Chicago 1930's style

Indian Pueblo nested into the hillside.

Hollywood back lot with active movie sets, props and gift shops.

Vegas!
Mt. Rushmore!
and more!

It was great to see so many new members at the meeting :-)

The list of wonderful and talented people is growing and we would love to have you!

If any of these ideas sound exiting to you, or if you have a few ideas of your own, please come and join us.

Our next meeting will be Thursday, June 5th at 5pm pst.

Due to my RL work schedule, I doubt I can make todays meeting. George filled me in last night on the current situation, and given the time constraints we are under, I gave him my proxy to vote as he feels is required.

If anyone missed the meeting, you can find either George or myself in world for a rather lengthy transcription. (Don't complain, I had to cut away all of the useless statements.)

How about a nightclub from the "Big Band" era? Tommy Dorsey, Bob Crosby, Leighton Noble etc etc etc

I would love that Pituca

I think it would fit perfectly in the 1930's Chicago area.
One of the bands I sing for plays big band music.

By the way here is a link to a couple mp3s of me singing Sinatra tunes. Don't laugh!

:-)

I am going to have to dig out my shabby saddle shoes (wouldn't do to wear new ones) and put my cardigan on backwards. AND not to be forgetting the sweater pearls!!!

Succesful Event!
06-08-2003 17:21
What a great trivia event we had today, we had people packed at the border trying to get in. Some of the group members had to leave the sim so that other non members could get in and check it out, luckily Rte. 66 is on multiple sims.

Thanks to Alexis for doing such a great job coordinating the event.

Americana is doing great and has many great members and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Everyone come check out Rte. 66 and our plans for expansion to a full Americana Theme.

Come buy raffle tickets too for the bike/hotchick raffle, the raffle is drawn tomorrow (check the event board for times!). So come one come all to Rte. 66 where America comes alive!

It's great that our group has grown to 30+ members... let's just hope that we hear about whether or not we get a sim for this project soon.

Bye bye for now,

Hey guys, I realized something about our sim... we are the north quadrant (Blue) and the airships are the south quadrant (Gray)... Grey and Blue are the colors of the sides of the civil war. LL wants us to kill the Airship team!!! Oh no!!!!!
