Does the HCRE use XML-RPC to talk to an external server? If so, I'd like to caution that there have been recent reports of unreliable communications to/from the grid to external servers which the potential user or operator of HCRE based code should be aware of; I believe even LL's own LindeX exchange has encountered recent problems related to these grid-to-non-grid communications.

This is not a "stay away" message, just a "please be aware" note.

There's no exchange with the external world. No email outside SL, no RPC. You have to load manually the list of redeemable codes IIRC.

Well you got me even though I have no intention of using it might as well been blueprints for making a washing machine. But I figured for a buck I couldn't go wrong, then when the blue card popped up and said "You just paid Hank Ramos 500" ??? ..for a script. Started checking prices, Not used to seeing 500 on a Hank Ramos script, thought it was a buck like the one next to it. Oh well maybe there's something I can salvage from it. I haven't even looked at it yet, Bought it a week ago. I'm not one of those people that thinks if you say it's free and you charge a buck for it that's false advertising. That's just more like a survey to see how many were sold 1L is like um 1/250 th of a US dollar maybe not worth the time it takes to figure out if I'm close.
So you got the balloon working again too? Wonder how much that was I don't think I grabbed that one thought it was the same one I had that was beyond my competence level to fix last time I bought it. Oh Well at least it went to someone who deserves it. I've built a lot of stuff based on those simple examples I got for a buck back when you were supporting a college, then I think It was a university or a library now its a 4 meter square piece sidewalk on the side of the road. I hope I don't incur the wrath of the forum groupies for posting I usually stick to the forum areas that aren't based on opinions like the scipting tips area. in fact I think I better run this through spell checker avoid that set of um folks that just search for poor spelling.

It's an example, not a full system. It is just the opened source from a project I had used before, and I thought people would like to maybe take it and hack it up for their uses. If paying L$500 to someone to look at their scripts is too much, then you need to move on since most people won't let you see their source code unless you pay USD$500.

P.S. I'm also constantly bitched at about not providing support for stuff I release for free, so if I sell something in the hopes of making a very little pocket change, I can see why others don't release their source code at all.
