It wont exist until you make a user defined language and then it is in
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Notepad++

I do not see the place to download the API file. Am I missing something? Also how do I make a user defined language?

Thanks

I'm not certain, but I think some attachments were excised during forum "maintenance" a while back.

You can find up-to-date syntax files for Notepad++ (and many other editors) at the Shill project.

OK I'm still using 2.8 so it may be different but there should be an icon on that looks a bit like an exclamation marek infront of a dialog box. Clicking on it will display the USer Defined Langauge edit window.

At long last, here is an updated syntax file for Notepad++, current for LSL 1.13. Please refer to the previous post in this thread for installation instructions.

01-15-2007 05:04
OK, how do I get and upload the .XML file that is supposed to be attached to these posts?
Can't find anything that looks like an attached file nor anyway to get that file. ????

In Samson Havercamp's post titled New Notepad++ language file updated for 1.13,
There should be a little box saying attached file, its a zip file.
If you cant see it check your settings.

Could anyone post the .api posted by Tom Lulu in message #9 of this thread? The attachment no longer seems to be with the post. Thanks.

I don't know if anyone else has tried it, but you can find the lsl.api file at the Shill Project. The format of the file looks pretty straightforward, so I suspect it will operate ok.

Select the User Define language panel and select LSL 1.10.0 as theUser Derfined langauge. then in the Ext box type lsl

how do you access the User Define Language Panel?

I'm trying to get auto-completion to work on Notepad++ (and auto indent, auto braces...)

I've placed the userDefineLang.xml file in both the home folder and the Application Settings folder. I've also added lsl.api into the home/plugins/APis folder ... syntax-highlighting occurs, but no matter how many times I press control-space, I can't get auto-completion to work...

Should be in the icon rack. Note I'm still using v2.8 though.
And I dont think I have auto complete in this version.

Nevermind... it is finally working.
I just sorted the api file in alphabetic order, and now the Ctrl-Space is working fine.

Hi all,

I'm trying to use Notepad++ v3.9 , with similar problems here... my OS is Windows XP Pro.
I found the "User Define Dialog..." option (Menu: View -> User Define Dialog...), Found User Language:"LSL 1.10.0", and created a new one, just in case.
But cannot find the "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Notepad++\" folder, so I have "userDefineLang.xml" file in the Notepad++ folder.
In "Settings..."-> "Preferences...", "Language Menu", does not show LSL into "Available items".
I cannot get auto-completion to work. (Ctrl-SPACE works for the other Languages)
I have the "LSL 1.10.0" User Lenguage, with Ext="lsl", and Keywords Lists seems to be complete.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
