How to search
10-29-2008 15:05
For future reference: to find all posts by a single person:

1. Go to "Search" in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Choose "Advanced Search" at the bottom of the pulldown.

2. Under "User Name" type the full name, e.g.: Jack Linden

3. In the lower left, select the radio button to "Show results as" "Posts"

if you want to speed the search up, in the lower left area you may want to limit the time span of the search to the last month.

Tried it. Not real reliable. But thanks for confirming that is what should work.

Works fine, folks. If you are having a problem with it, maybe you are running afoul of its extremely limited syntax, which it flags with very small print error messages at the top of the search results.

-- Cannot search for words less than 4 letters long
-- Filters out certain many common words, e.g. "there" etc.
-- Does not seem to find LSL command names, e.g. llSay

In their usual inept fashion, there has been a dearth of communication from LL on this subject. The only bit that I have found other then the official blog is available at the URL below. <<transcript of Jack Linden, popping into Concierge List to invite everyone to a "chat".>>

If not now, when? If not us, who?

Thousands of SL residents will suffer under this new LL ruling on Openspace sims. If you are one of them, or know one of them, and they are moral, support them. Write a message to every Linden you can find on search, and IM them a copy of it; put the message in a notecard and drop it in all of their profiles; post the message to this forum, with additional comments; post your message ini Jira; open LL trouble tickets and post your message; find blogs about SL and post your message there again and again.

Define the message and repeat it to all who will listen and to all who will not.

It worked for Gandhi.

Give it a shot.
