Were all those extra "e"s ever pronounced? (O.o) Yep, pretty much. If you were saying "olde faire", you'd pronounce 'em, but for "olde England", you didn't need to, because the next word starts with a vowel similar to the "e" at the end of "olde". The "Ye", however, is really a "the" .... I don't remember the explanation for how "the" became "ye", but I bet it has something to do with the printing process of the time. |

I work for Languagelab.com. We are currently teaching ESL, EFL and Spanish in over 18 sims. We have used Second Life as our main teaching venue for over 3 years. We were interested in having a booth. What is the process for participation?

Help & Questions On SL Education
01-29-2009 19:05
Hello my name is Max (Maxx Viper on SL) and I am a business student at Western
Washington University located in Bellingham, WA. I'm currently helping to research the opportunities and challenges for business education in Second Life. This research will benefit Western Washington University staff and students. I'm was wondering if anyone can direct me to any schools, colleges, and universities on SL. I'm focusing on ones that have real world counterparts (i.e. the USC Marshall School of Business) that conduct classes on SL in addition to the many real world classes they offer. As well as ones that have anything to do with various business fields and concentrations. In addition to the SURL's of places I can visit on SL I was wondering if you could send me the e-mails of any business professors or their SL name that use SL as an educational tool that you know of. I'm attempting to increase my sample of professors so later I can send a survey to all of them to better understand the different aspects that SL offers to higher education. Also if you could answer the following questions it would be much appreciated. How would you say Second Life is unique to traditional education? What do you see in the trends and potential of higher education in virtual worlds? What are the various ways professors use SL? Any contacts or insight is very appreciated. I thank you in advance for you time and knowledge on the subject. I'm very new at SL. -Max S. WWU Freshman Business Student |
