Happy New Year M !!!

Lets Hope 2009 turns out to be a better year for all in SL and RL !

P.S. can I get a bear for Foxy and I ??

Thanks for your post Mondak! Definitely worth checking out.

I am at relatives for the New Years holiday on an impossibly slow internet connection so it will be a few days before I can send some bears but I'll send them to you, Foxy and everyone else who has asked for them! Happy New Year!

Have you ever been to a no-pressure club, where the conversation isn't scripted, the people are real, the campers will talk to you, and the DJ will play your requests?

Oh, and for the stats, I am at the full sim mainland tier, have a hot box with a fat pipe, and usually have little difficulty with SL. However I rarely leave my region, which helps. Texture loading seems to create the biggest lag. Maybe a larger and better indexed cache on the client side would help things. By far the biggest help when things get laggy is to wipe the secondlife user directory, a little annoying, but has solved a number of problems in the past. Also I have found the Linux Client to be MUCH more responsive and stable than the Windows client.

I don't have any problems with LSL, but arrays would be nice. I don't code for a living, so C# and .net would be useless to me, but library functions and depends would be nice (think perl). Some kind of ODBC connector would also be cool.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and top picks. I'll compile a list and post to the main blog for everyone next week. Have a great new year wherever you are and we'll see you in 2009.

SL Mentors and Volunteers

One glaring omission to what people have posted so far is SL Mentors. It ain't an easy job and all the mentors I've run into have always been pretty cheerful, helpful and professional.

This group, both the vteam Lindens and the resident mentors, make SL a better place and deserve a public shout-out..

Thanks so much!
