What is this thread about? The thread linked in the first post doesn't take me anywhere.

I think the OP is asking why links of pictures of tools which slice people open are allowed on PG forums. Maybe some of you are making assumptions it has to do with sex because 'Torture' is mentioned, (why I don't know).

I'm thinking, if it's allowed in SL, it's probably allowed here. I could be wrong - are the forums PG?

There is a specific thread mentioned in the first post in this thread (/196/42/246705/1.html), but I get an error message when I try to go to that thread.

This is a PG forum. Though you have to be 18+ and a member of Second Life (and maybe a payment information on file member, forgot if that is one of the limitations), that does not mean that this is a R rated forum. At least according to what I have read by Strife.

Technically, yes, I believe, but considering we regularly have adverts for brothels and firearms it would seem that it is not what you'd call enforced.

The 1st link doesn't work for me either. I think I was able to click it when I first saw the thread, but I can't anymore and I don't remember where it sent me. Something similar to the 2nd link.

I've decided my new business venture will be creating torture devices, only not physical torture, mental torture. I've made an iPod loaded up with Barry Manilow songs, a chalkboard you can drag your fingers across, and a box that rezzes presidential candidates and has them launch into their campaign speeches. I'm working on a video screen that shows Ishtar, Adam Sandler movies and that stinking pile of crap, 10,000 BC.

Assuming the first link was showing the same picture as the link to the German site, then I don't see a problem. IMO, that picture does not qualify as 'mature' -- maybe a little distasteful to some, but not really 'mature'. It is not actualy showing a person getting sliced up and it definitely is not showing anything sexual. Since I cannot read German, I cannot say if the words are taking it into the Mature realm.

We do have plenty of folks in the US that would like to also claim that the picture should be censored. Thank goodness they are not getting their way yet.

And I always thought you were a fairly nice guy - a little warped maybe, but basically nice.

I am basically nice, but business is business. People with knives and other stabby things are just showing that they have no imagination when it comes to torture.

Annabelle has a guillotine on her land... every time I go over there, I pop myself into it, just to see my head roll around on the ground. It's hilarious and severly twisted, but for some reason, I just have to do it.

I mean, come on people...your avatars can't be killed. "Dying" in SL is a matter for creative thinking and gleeful merriment. I have an animation called "Collider Death" that makes me trip, fall, crack my skull open and die if someone bumps into me. Sometimes I fly to a great height, turn off flight, and see if I can find my parachute in inventory, get it on, and remember the "open" command before I go splat. I've been known to slash friends with my katana. Trout killed me in a plane crash, twice, but I don't hold it against him.
