This is not a survey.... lol!
Could it be that the inherent traits we possess determine how well we interact with and in a 3D Vitual worldsuch as SL?
I seem to do well as a left-hander here. Creativity, imagination and obsessiveness are my drives that keep me going here in SL.
Just curious to know if people that do actually hang around longer in SL tend to be left-handed, right-handed or both!

I'm right handed. I don't know what that means exactly, but I do know I can hit a curveball.

I'm LH in RL. When you edit an object, or build your AV uses LH, so I suppose we are all left handed.

Left handed - free lance illustrator. Well, not as free as I used to be.
But I don't really think this has anything to do with how I took to virtual worlds. I stay in SL 'cause I'm a GEEK!

I'm mostly ambidextrous, although I favour the right hand for some tasks and the left hand for others. The only handedness things I've noticed about SL is most of the animations seem to assume right-handed avatars, i.e. throwing things, shooting things, holding drinks etc. I figured the selection beam came out of your left hand, so that you could build without spilling your drink. -Atashi

Apparently we are all left-handed in SL. When you create or edit prims, you always do so with your left hand. (why?)

RL, I write with my left, but use my mouse with my right.

Ambidextrous, but favor my right hand. Have always been artistically inclined.

Right-handed, I can draw, write creatively, photography is a hobby, have an imagination. One has nothing to do with the other, I'm sure. Or, I'm lucky

From: Raudf Fox RL, I write with my left, but use my mouse with my right. Me too. I am solidly left-handed in every aspect of RL other than computing. I learned to use a right-handed computer setup because that is the standard, and it was just easier that way at work where everything is set up for right-handed users, and when learning to use computer programs in classes, etc. Now it is second nature to mouse right-handed. But the rest of my life is left-handed. And yes, I have the typical left-handed creativity and artistic traits, too. Don't you all remember that saying that left handed people are the only ones in their right mind?! Something to do with the way the brain is wired, I believe! Princess Ivory

I'm a complete and utter lefty in real life (and come from a family of lefties). My right hand is redundant!! I cant use it for anything and havent been able to since i stopped playing brass instruments I use my mouse left handed, same for a touchpad, same for a number pad I'm a photographer, painter, calligrapher in RL. And I live in a shoe in SL I never see my "creativity" as a handedness thing ... its just me. *shrug*

LH most of the time, I sometimes switch if I need to work with something messy like ink but it always feels wrong. From: Monalisa Robbiani Apparently we are all left-handed in SL. When you create or edit prims, you always do so with your left hand. (why?) So you don't spill the drink in your right hand!

Best I can figure, it's because if we used our right hands and were editing something above our heads, SL would run afoul of some laws in Germany, France, and a number of other European countries.

Oh, even with the left hand, it still looks vaguely suspicious sometimes...especially when SL decides to keep you i that position even though you stopped editing something ten minutes ago....quite embarrassing. I am a confused ambidextrous person-I started out not knowing which hand to use for writing, was taught writing with the right hand, but play things like badminton or table tennis with either hand (confuses the hell outta your opponent-ever seen "The Princess Bride"? ) I shoot a bow like a right handed person (I couldn't decide which way worked better, and a right handed bow was easier to get at the time), but when i use a slingshot, I shoot like a leftie...go figure. I also don't favour any foot-which was a good thing when I still did dancing and ballet as a competitive sport, and also in football (soccer). I draw with the right hand, but when I have to, I can draw alright with the other one, too. I think the two halves of my brain are also not exactly *divided* - they keep communicating and confusing things (a mild form of synaesthesia-fun, but weird)

I wonder if mainly only LH people are replying to this thread? Seems like there are a lot of us Lefties in SL! Or lefties and ambis. Maybe the RH people don't care about this thread because they know they rule the world anyway?

Ambisinister... equally clumsy with left and right hands. Right-handed as much by convention as anything else.

From: Alyx Sands You do realise that sinister actually means "left"? Of course... so ambisinister means (roughly) "equally left-handed". Society generally sees the left hand as the clumsy one, so I claim that my definition stands

use both, tend to favor the right for most things though I can use the left
not sure what it would have been like if the right was not a thing that was taught

It's just that a lot of people tend to forget that "dextrous" in itself just means "right-ey"
