From: Ponsonby Low Forgive small correction, but: Prancer, not Brancer. And yes--up until mid-to-late February, in most cases. Also: thanks for the advice on who to contact--I wouldn't have known, and am glad to have the info. I may well shoot a communication Blondin's way. Also also: another poster had queried my use of Dotcom Homepage. I was thinking of this (even if it's not called The Homepage....?), on which there are two spaces, blue rectangles, that rotate through various notices: https://secure-web10.secondlife.com/Ah. The SL website. I do not normally go the the website itself. Normally, if doing SL related things, go directly to the forums (forums.secondlife.com; actually I type 'f' of 'fo' in the address bar and have forums.secondlife.com as previously visited option turn up). I had not heard of the SL home page refered to as dotcom so was confused by that expression. Thought there might have been a winterfaire.com page or something directly related to Winterfaire.

I'm just used to that distinction----the SL opening page, where you go to get into SL, versus the opening page that greets you at Secondlife.com (hence 'dotcom'.) But I can see how it could be confusing. ^_^

From: Marianne McCann Typo. I corrected it in the above. I knew you knew the correct name, but for the sake of those who might want to visit, I thought I'd pop in and mention it. No implication of lack-of-knowledge intended. I do wonder how many visitors those sims will ultimately have...my guess is that it won't be all that impressive a total.

Arielyn, I was talking to my partner about this thread and she pointed out that we had visited your sim, before Winterfaire, when we were looking around to see what other people were doing. There is certainly no reason why you shouldn't have been included on the quality of the build, which we loved - the fact that she remembered your name instantly shows how much it impressed us.

From: Jojogirl Bailey My reading of the winterfaire criteria was that it should somehow emphasize diversity by showing the various winter holiday traditions of various countries and faiths. When i went to several of the sites i was surprised to see some nice builds, some nice decorations, alot of decorations for sale, but not much in the way of diversity or tradition sharing. If i had known it could have just been a nice place with an ice skating rink and some decorationsk, i would have applied also. I was involved in the display at Caledon Wellsian. My Ladyfriend and I had planned the concept of "Dangerous Wintry Romance" months ago and by the time Winterfaire was announced, our region was set up. Without reading thoroughly, we applied. Once I read the fine print (that is, holiday tradition), I realized we'd erred. However, once our traffic increased dramatically, only then did we realize we'd been featured as a Hot Spot (no message from LL ever). I was surprised that we were -- I hadn't thought that Romance amidst ice, brambles and thorns could be considered a tradition. Moreover, I was surprised at how few regions were featured. I'm still scratching my head a little.
