Is anyone else having problems receiving offline IM's?

Or is it just me? I haven't had an offline IM come through to my email account in 3-4 days. Not one. Just curious to see if perhaps this is an issue bigger than just my account... thanks.

P/s - I have already checked my spam box/settings - that is not the problem.

This happened to me suddenly a few months ago with hotmail. It simply stopped communicating with SL. I gave it up and switched to GMail. But whatever you do, don't make that mistake. It might work fine for someone who only has an active social circle, but it is a disaster for someone trying to communicate with rental boxes and statistic bots. Yahoo seems to work fine so far.

I am having a lot of trouble, starting about a week or so ago, with other people not getting my IMs when they're offline. I don't have time to diagnose every friend and tenant's email problems, so if it's important I just followup, or send a notecard.

Thanks Avion, seems hit or miss from the limited posts I've read.... Starting to not feel so lonely about this.... Thx for the tip on emial services, I may have to try out another service if this continues, but it does seem that the problem lies with LL at the moment...

For me it seems to be just like the group notices - sometimes you get them and sometimes you don't. And this appears to have been happening for a few months now. There is a JIRA on the group notice issue and a JIRA on Group IMs not always working, but I don't know if there is one for this specific IM issue.

The "sometimes you get them and sometimes you don't" factor has always been business as usual for me. Currently however, I am getting NONE, zip, nothing.

I am also having the same issue. I set up a JIRA, as this poses a problem for me.

yes im having sporadic problems with offline messages.
Sometimes i get them about 2 days late in email format...i always get them inworld (well i HOPE i do lol) they used to ALL go to email if i was not inworld...now only some do..

Ive asked people to drop me notecards as I cant trust the system currently, been like this for about 2 weeks.

As far as I know I'm getting all my IM's ok when I'm off line. But when I answered one just now (one only an hour or two old) my answer came back as undeliverable. It was kind of long so I divided it up into parts and at least one part got through but at least one part got returned. This has never happened to me before.

For me it is kinda a lottery... some times I get times, some times I don't!

Same problem here using GMX. I have found out though that all IMs i get from SL have suddenly been classified as spams, most likely because GMX has added the server that sends out SL offline IMs to emails has been added to their spam blacklist.

I heart gmail.

When in doubt, check your Email spam settings online and - if they provide one - a spam inbox for any SL Emails. If there has been an update to your provider's master spam routing it could be SL was added. Just create a filter with them directing anything from SL to the inbox.

How do you handle it thinking that all rental boxes and bots are the same "person?" Or do you not have those things set to communicate with you over email?

Gmail seemed to have good performance for me, and didn't seem to be dropping messages like hotmail does, but I couldn't get it to sort and differentiate the messages properly.

I got used to it. I have 155 boxes, not to mention vendors, etc. I just expand the threads to see what's what.

Yes I'm having problems receiving IMs offline. I've gone from about 20 per day to about 1 every two days. I've noticed that the subject line has also changed (on the ones I get) from 'Message From Second Life' to 'Second Life - the object <blah> has sent you a message'.

It has been hit or miss for me as well -- for a couple of months now. Most seem to go through, but every once in a while one won't. I sometimes go a couple of days without logging in (when RL gets overwhelming) and rely on being able to answer IM from email, which gets dangerous when an IM doesn't go through and someone thinks I'm ignoring them.

They have been very sporadic for awhile now.

I didn't get any all day yesterday. This morning I had 10. Six from yesterday and 4 from very early this morning. So far today, they seem to be coming through OK. One can only hope hope that they continue to do so, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

What I have also noticed over the few days is that inworld IMs are sometimes getting delayed also. I was having an IM conversation with someone and ONE of the messages, in the middle of the conversation, did not get to him until the next time he logged in. That has happened to me three times with two different people in the last week. I was confused at first as to why my statements did not make sense to the person - cuz the previous statement was not received.
