I stopped telling people anything at all about SL - I got too many odd looks.

That there is an SL Grid. So I guess it's unanimous.

There's plenty of knowledge in SL which I wouldn't share with other in RL. Did I learn it in SL? No.

Wait a minute: what does that say??

For me it the other way around.... In RL we can have privacy... in SL privacy doesn't exist....

Nothing really, but I find most people who do not play SL are not really interested. I've tried to get my BF into it, but he'd rather watch the cricket :)

I'm actually quite surprised how non-secretive I am about my SL... But, really, for the people that already know me... What I do in SL is pretty tame when compared to my RL. =^-^=

Other than funny looks, I get sighs of relief that I'm not doing anything crazier. (^_^)y

I think only my family (that's about 3 people scattered across the US) and my closest friend know I'm involved in SL and I stopped bringing it up. They think it's like the Sims game and probably think I'm just a geek.

Oh wait . . .

____________

What have I learned that I would not share? Ladies are more comfortable talking to a puppy than to a man.

On second thought I probably would share that if anyone was interested, but they are not.

I don't talk about SL any more, other than to a couple of people who are curious to know what I have built.

LOL - My husband once joked that he would rather watch the paint dry on the wall than come play barbies with me.

Hell, what I've learned in SL I won't even share with others in SL! (It's X-rated.)

i used to hide my sl but since i have gotten heavy into the building side of it i don't even bother..
i used to minimize my viewer when anyone would come over..

now if anyone is over watching me work on something and a group invite pops up from some cybor sex place or someone in my calling cards has spammed me i just say..it's like spam email on here and close it and keep working like it never happened..

my father will stop in and i'll be on here and he'll sit and watch also..
heck i get days off for my builds now days..
he's all for me designing things in here as long as i don't let projects slip in the office and sites have their start up dates set before the crews get there..

but he'll never hear about my older days in sl ever lol nobody will hahahaha :D

Right. I've heard 'glorified 3-D chatroom' once too often. I don't talk about it, much.

Two or three RL people know I'm in SL. One of them visited my standalone OpenSim island a few times although they don't belong to SL as far as I know. But the island sunk beneath the waves in a computer meltdown, never to be found again:(

I don't tell them much about SL as they're not really interested. I can understand that because they play other computer games that I'm not interested in

Ditto.

It sounds like your some kind of bible-thumper trying to convert them.

I did manage to get 1 or 2 people into SL. One of them is now hooked on SL instead of SWG.
