From: Ephraim Kappler Not at all: the failure to appreciate that the parameters of what may or may not be possible for other individuals, what may or may not be fantastic for them, indicates a certain lack of imagination - and empathy, come to think of it. It is not 'sad' if another person's fantasy is something you might take for granted in RL. However it is at best patronising and arrogant at worst if you choose to see it that way. So you don't understand the meaning of sad then. Pep (I *do* understand the rl limitations of others, and it seems to me that most of them are self-imposed) PS "Fantasy doesn't happen in rl"? It seems *you* are the one seriously lacking in imagination.

From: Ephraim Kappler @Pep: my comments stand. @Ephraim: so do mine Pep (especially you not understanding the meaning of sad) PS They shouldn't be establishing an Adult continent; they should build one for social workers so you can all cry on each others' shoulders.

No one needs to cry on anybody's shoulders here. Nether does anyone need snide comment about the things that enthuse them. You really ought to revise your 'default' attitude: sometimes we need more than the plain vanilla settings to get the best out of an application - and the very same can be said for our humanity.

Are you going to post that you are a milkmaid, that your ambition is world peace, and that winning the title won't change you at all? From: Pserendipity Daniels As I say, sad. You do understand the meaning of the word, don't you?
Pep (Backing off on the accusations about my imagination and ability to realise it, then?) Pep, maybe YOU don't understand the meaning of the word, or the nature of fantasies. Many of us have fantasies that we CHOOSE not to have in RL, for whatever reasons. For you to blithely assume that it's sad shows a paucity of imagination. Not something you're usually accused of, so perhaps it's simply lack of empathy or awareness.

I can understand people coming to SL to indulge in fantasies that they could *not* realise in rl (flying, tp, building the Tour Eiffel if that is what turns you on) but what Mickey describes and Lindal endorses is something that any attractive woman could enjoy considerably more in rl. I'll repeat that it is sad that they have to come to SL for it.
FYI - at the time I was working 90 hours a week...not housebound, not disabled...and not strapped for cash...but surrounded in a legitimate profession by arrogant asses such as yourself all day long......way past their mid-life crisis days....bellies sagging....comb overs thinning.... ......overcompensating for their diminishing virility and dwindling competency.... dealing with their inferiority by stooping cowardly to a condescending, degrading and patronizing attitude toward women who would not have given them the time of day or a second glance.....today....or even 30 years ago when you were in your prime......in fact, Never. Oh excuse me....I said "when YOU were in your prime".....I meant to say when "they" were in their prime....it's just that I was so "immersed" in the description.

I'll repeat that it is sad that they have to come to SL for it. Using the word sad in a typically critical and judgemental manner, then falling back to the real meaning of the word as if it was what you meant all along is called baiting and trolling. The fact that someone could enjoy it more in RL is a real limp noodle stance considering that encompasses nearly everything enjoyable in SL. Assuming one enjoys these things in SL because of missed RL opportunities is arrogant and flawed from the start. Suggesting they HAVE to come to SL to experience those things is diminuitive at best. From: Pserendipity Daniels PS They shouldn't be establishing an Adult continent; they should build one for social workers so you can all cry on each others' shoulders. LOL Put bug spray on your legs before you visit so the prim ants don't bite your candy ass

Pep ( . . . as is obvious) Paranoid and bigoted for picking up on the obvious digs you throw in? lmao.. Not sad at all.. it's called entertainment, which doesn't have to be the maximum all the time. What's realistic and obvious is the cowardly way you choose to voice your intolerance, and that it's not sarcasm.. though you DO get a gold star for trying

From: Dana Hickman Not sad at all.. it's called entertainment, which doesn't have to be the maximum all the time. Didn't you mention something about "limp noodle"? If you are happy with a poor substitute then it *is* sad. I don't hide, as the majority do because they don't want to upset the sensitive souls here. Intolerant? It's *you* that lacks the tolerance to acknowledge an alternative viewpoint. Pep (despairs of the vocal minority driving out realistic attitudes)
