Hi,

My Seagulls are stuck in the air and won't fly. My ceiling fan is also stuck and won't spin as it should.

Anyone having similar problems? And is there a way to get these items moving as they should?

Thanks

It's an known problem with rotating objects. I think there's a JIRA on it, but I can't recall off hand which one it is.

Sometimes a sim restart fixes it, or sometimes taking the object back into your inventory and then setting it out does it.

and boats are sinking and my fish won't swim.

It's an issue with the scripting language since the rollout of Havoc4.
Maybe you can go back to the creator of these items and see if they have an update.

as daft as it seems one solution is to 'nudge' them.

second thing to try is click on object, edit, go to content, open script, click reset and see if that helps.

if that doesn't work you can add to the JIRA that says this is a problem with some rotation objects in SL with the introduction of Havoc4 the physics engine.

Just to make sure: verify that Client (or Advanced depending on your viewer) / Network / Velocity Interpolate Objects is *checked*. Having it turned off will disable client side rotation (among other things).

If it's checked, then there's "rotation not working" (/327/2c/250971/1.html) which describes a Havok4 bug with rotations.

As far as i can understand (but dont quote me), there is a problem caused by Havoc (aptly named) whereas certain scripts including rotating scripts are caused to randomly freeze....I have had similar problems, and have tried resetting, editing, rotating, taking back to inventory and rerezzing, all to no avail...In each case i have had to rez new copies for them to resume operation. I have spoken to live help and have submitted a ticket which i believe is still being worked on
This problem is extremely frustrating and causes a great deal of work continually renewing items, so lets hope some resolve happens soon :)
