The birth of Prohibition-style Speakeasys?

With the mainland now prohibited from adult business activity, and the adult land prices in Zindra already much, much higher than regular mature land, I gotta believe enterprising folks are going to try and get around it all with private clubs, groups, code words to enter the sim, etc.

What do you think? Would they work?

Is there a list of forbidden words in search and land/classified/business descriptions?

I highly suspect that this kind of thing already exists for certain kinds of prohibited content (e.g. sexualized age play), although maybe not in quite the form you describe here. And we know that enterprising intrepeneurs are always finding new "code words" to get around banned or potentially troublesome terms: one of the most obvious in the past was "forced sex."

I think if land in Zindra stays absurdly priced, it's more likely a market for Adult rental space on private islands will open up rather than unadvertisable speakeasy style places.

I am wondering just what will happen with Zindra...

So far it looks like peeps are staying away in droves- mind you, I have done very limited exploring there. But the few places I have checked, the traffic has seemed absurdly low. Grant you it is new and all... but- /me can't help but wonder if LL will have to give it up- or if they will continue the disneyfication regardless of their customer base.

While I am a huge fan of SL and always say they can keep their BM and what have you- I cannot see living a PG life -

I just feel sorry for any random innocent fellow who names his region "Pen Island" and puts it in search...

In a sense this already exist in a degree....there are certain places I attend that are *ahem* live sex clubs *ahem* that instead of moving (even though I recently offered a part of my land for them to use for free) stay where they are and just unclciked the seach box and just keep wuth regulars and word of mouth

The problem is the cost of what happens once you get AR'd.

Any single customer could turn them in - and then the controlling accounts would all get banned, and the content lost and the land moved out from under them.

To get around that, everything you use would have to be transfer, stored on backup alts, and rezzible so you'd just run from sandbox to sandbox and then spam group chat with coords for everyone to show up at...
- Until you get IP banned...

Much easier to rent a plot on an adult estate, and wait out the prices on Zindra.

I don't think prohibited sexclubs are the only thing that went to the "Speakeasy" kind of operation. I have wondered for a very long time if many gambling operations didnt as well when that ban came in.

BUt the earlier poster is right doing so is whole new level of gambling and one in which very likely the risks are far greater than the rewards.

Well, why do they? It always ends up smelling of herrings. It doesnt matter how much they shower.
And why does you-know-what sometimes taste like ammonia? It's a bit of disppointment. I thought it was gonna taste like melted ice cream and all I got was a blob of ammonia first time.

Public sex isn't anything that will get LL into legal trouble like gambling and it won't generate a media sh*tstorm like sexual ageplay. At worst it would make LL look bad to corporate clients. Do you really think LL is going to pursue a few illicit gatherings? Ban for sex?
