On the subject of superstitions, I was sitting in the Bradenton-Sarasota airport a few years back. Was waiting on a delayed flight and got to looking around the concourse. There was Gate 10, Gate 11, Gate 12 and then it jumped to Gate 14 (which really is gate 13) proceeded on to Gate 15 and so forth. I guess airports are superstitious or just playing it safe

and here is why.... look at the calendar.... Friday the 13th!! so... I guess no Friday thread, since it is Friday the 13th, the unlucky day, so they say, which means we won't be lucky enough to get a Friday thread, no matter how hard we try... now for the obligatory question... Are you superstitious? If so does your superstition also take place in SL as well as RL? What kind of superstitions do you have that pertain to SL.  Strangly enough, friday the 13th has always been good for me... We shall see what today brings... I am not superstitious other than using tarot cards.. I walk under ladders and have 2 black cats that always cross my path.. lol hmm, in SL.... I don't have any. |

Not superstitious - Friday the 13th is just another day to me. (Hmmm...it would be fun to purchase a black cat AV and roam around SL today. *grins*) I like the way you think!  I'm not superstitious in the slightest. I don't even like to say "bless you" to people after they've sneezed -- although some think that my refusal actually means I wish them ill! So, if I get the fish-eye for not saying it, I place one hand on their head and say "bless you my child." Well, *I* think it's funny!  |

I, too, was born on a Friday the 13th. Mine in September.
I don't consider Friday the 13th to be unlucky at all. If anything I call it lucky, because without Friday the 13th I wouldn't be here. |

I have no SL superstitions at all. Nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch.
RL, however, is different. Although I couldn't care less about black cats, walking under ladders or throwing salt over my shoulder, the one superstition I stuck to for several years was when I played hockey. I would arrive at the rink at the exact same time, put my equipment in the same corner of the dressing room, go buy an Oh Henry bar and a hot chocolate, go back to the dressing room, have a smoke, undress and put on the 'covering up my privates' part of my hockey equipment , eat my chocolate bar, drink my hot chocolate and have another smoke. After this, my equipment would go on the exact same way, everything taped up the same way, pre-game warm up the same (followed by a smoke before the game). If I had a great game,  routine would stay the same. If I shat the bed during the game  , my routine would change slightly.Looking back, I changed my routine for the wrong reasons.....I probably shouldn't have smoked 3 smokes before the game. Nope, not superstitious at all. |
