Sorry if this has already been done, but I could only find this thread:
/327/6f/299546/1.html
and I wanted to expand on it a bit with a poll.

When you log into Second Life, do you do so using the regular Second Life client (the program you downloaded from the official Second Life homepage), or do you use a 3rd party client (something you downloaded elsewhere like Cool Viewer, Nicholaz Viewer, Kirsten's Shadow draft, ect)?

Might be worth including using the Release Candidate as a separate option to the Standard viewer?

I use the RCs almost exclusively when they are available, except for the rare one (usually the first couple of versions) that won't run.

The main reason I kept it to those 3 choices is because any Release Candidate (to my knowledge) is going to be generation 1.21 and later, so it's moving forward as opposed to being behind as an earlier generation.

Please vote that you use the default client for the sake of this poll, as things like mirrored, flipped, and oblong sculpts would be rendered correctly on your client. I'm trying to narrow down how many people run the risk of not seeing these new features correctly.

Also if anyone has any statistics on this or knows when this will become a mandatory update for 3rd party viewers, I'd really appreciate knowing.

Makes sense.

Seems to me the RC is still a long way from being ready to become the standard viewer.

RC
Not having any problems with it, so it's my viewer of choice. (Then again, I've not tried any 3rd party viewers)

I use the Cool Viewer over the current 1.21 release and will update to 1.22 once the Cool Viewer is updated to that level after 1.22 goes live.

Using the current RC - so far, it's pretty stable. I do have 1.20.17 on my computer as well, but with the current RC, I haven't had a need to go back to it.

I use the non-choice in the poll: the Release Candidate.

I've been using the Release Candidate until the last upgrade left me with no music and no sound, except for voice. I'm now using Nicholaz's Eye Candy version H. The interface is a bit old fashion, but it's super stable and I got my music back.

I used to use the Nicholaz viewer almost exclusively, until he stopped (or slowed down) supporting and updating it. It's a shame that Linden Lab is so slow to incorporate his bug fixes :(

Now I use the latest RC viewer almost exclusively. It's obviously far less stable than the Nicholaz viewer and frequently crashes, but I've pretty much decided by now that when the Linden viewers can't work reliably then there are so many other interesting things I can do that I simply don't need the frustration of dealing with an unstable platform.

Consequently, I'm hardly ever in-world anymore :(

I've just switched over from Nicholaz EC-h to the CoolViewer for 1.21. So far it's solid as a rock. Only bad thing is that direct secondlife:// links (and possibly slurls) are calling up the official client, instead of giving me a tp while the CoolViewer is running.

I use a 3rd party viewer (Hippo 0.4.0) and voted "all the time" but it's based on 1.21 and not behind a generation either.

None of the above (where's the pie option?). I tend to use the Release Client as a general rule.

I'm on whatever's most stable/impressive for the time. I didn't look at alt-clients until the mucked up 1.21 started to come around. The RC was HORRIBLE and it was released WAY TOO FAST!!!! (>_<;)

I really fell in love with the features Cool Viewer has, but for a while the 1.22 RC gave me better performance. And, most importantly, the AV mesh and attachments are shaded nearly the same now... No more touch of gray. Now that CV has gone 1.22, I think I'll be running that. (^_^)y

I use the KirstenLee viewer which was made for the OpenLife grid. Much lower lag than I had been experiencing with either the default viewer or whichever RC was in existence at the time.

Ahh, I hadn't really accounted for that either, and probably should have just made the poll "Do you use a viewer based off 1.21 or greater, or less than 1.21", or cut to the chase and said "Can you see oblong/mirrored sculpts with the client you use"

i have a question about the Cool Viewer 1.21.
it shows my lindens as % instead of actually what i have..is there a way to change this so it shows my amount i have instead of the percent i have per 1,000?

Huh? Mine doesn't look like that.

Depends on the situation. Usually the current LL viewer. Sometimes the RC. Other times Kirsten's Shadowdraft SD2-R7, because it can make for absolutely stunning snapshots.
