Even after I select 'take off all clothing', my character has a black bra& panties on. How do I get to be completly naked? It doesn't work when I select take off all clothing. Does anyone else have this problem? How do I solve it? Thanks<3

Could they be painted onto the skin you are wearing? Try another skin and see if that fixes it. (Most skins are nude, in varying degrees of detail, but I have seen some more modest ones with undies painted on.)

There are a at least a couple of freebie skins that have the undies painted on. The only way to get rid of them is to get different skin. There are plenty of other freebie skins as naturist as you please.

One of the skins for the new avies in the library folder has bra and panties on it. In order to be completely naked you will probably have to choose a different skin.

I think this is wrong, mainly because this is the kind of stuff SL is trying to stop, and this "could" be construed as borderline child porn (I said "could"...) got to be careful now a days now seeing the censor on an adult avatar I could understand, but why a kid??? (sorry a little confused here) unless your avatar is not a kid, which I am still not sure about _____________________

Is it a kid? Is it just a short adult? A dwarf? A midget? Never seen kids with thick limbs like that. If avatars must follow the rules of the Real World, then they must also deserve all the benefits of being "real"- health benefits, medical care, social security, basic human rights. Back to the OP... did you ever find a different skin to wear? These days, the new avatar skins are kept in two different places in your Library, which is in your Inventory. The first is in a folder called Body Parts. The second is in the Clothing folder, which contains complete avatars, including skins, in each subfolder.
You can never actually just take off a skin... you have to wear a different skin, to replace the old one. Same with shapes. The shape is the avatar mesh, and the skin is the first layer to go over it; both are required at all times. You can't wear a skin without a shape, and you can't wear a shape without a skin. You can buy both shapes and skins in SL... they are made by residents. You can also find freebie skins and shapes around the grid, though many are pretty basic. Welcome to SL! _____________________

This is another one of those things that really really needs better documentation to new folks. You also cannot take off eyes or the mesh hair -- there always has to be something there for those things. Combine this info with a bit of info about the various parts that are *sometimes* painted onto the skin, but not always, and a newbie might come a bit closer to understanding stuff a little earlier in their SLife. I don't see the Lindens being interested in helping people get naked though. If they were they wouldn't have added a skin with built in undies. |
