I think Ive worked out my issue though. The shape I wear is no mod..and it has lashes built in, so whenever I try to wear prim lashes they just dont look right? I might be wrong ..I

That's what it is. To top it off, the shape slider doesn't allow the default lashes to removed completely. Even at 0 there's going to be a bit left to interfere with prim lashes. The way around that is to use a skin with no lashes drawn in. That makes the lash part of the AV mesh completely transparent and it's barely noticable.
