Blue popup "Unable to create requested object. Object is missing from database."

I keep seeing a blue popup in the lower right of my client that says:

"Unable to create requested object. Object is missing from database."

Anyone know how to track down whats causing it? Its not just a one off, its happening every 4 or 5 mins while I'm in my home sim. It goes away if I go somewhere else.

It's the return of an asset server issue. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT TRY TO TAKE NO COPY INVENTORY OBJECTS FROM YOUR INVENTORY. There is a good chance you will lose them if you try to rez them right now.

Sounds like asset corruption might be to blame :/

Perhaps someone more knowledgable can confirm or otherwise.

I've been experiencing this with more than just nocopy items though. a lot of stuff I've spent a lot of time building is missing too. As it is, accessing my inventory is sort of a 50/50 gamble as to whether i still have anything from oh... about 2 weeks or older.

Much of this, I've found, has stemmed from the 'data loss' posted about in the blog a few weeks ago. While I am going to begin recording everything I come across that I can no longer access.... does anyone know if any of the stuff lost from that database outage will ever be recovered? And would it be worth it to file a support ticket for it?

Hi! I have the same problem with my own items and textures. I filled a support ticket over a week ago and till then no news at all from them...

it`s an automated system telling u to do nothing at all except chat

it comes and goes with asset server issues so when u get it, don`t touch anything just to be safe

I think, more appropriately, the warning should be thusly worded:

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY BUYING THINGS IN SL. DO NOT SPEND ANY TIME BUILDING THINGS IN SL. DO NOT TRY TO TAKE ANYTHING FROM YOUR INVENTORY. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE EVER BUILT OR BOUGHT WILL VANISH, WITHOUT WARNING, NEVER TO RETURN. THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT LINDEN LAB WILL EVER FIX THIS PROBLEM.

BUT REMAIN CALM.

Sigh. Argent, I can't believe this happened to you again? Just for curiosity's sake, how large is (was) your inventory?

Anyway. OP, it looks like the asset server problems from the day before yesterday have made a whole lot of people's items go missing. Usually such items never return, sometimes they do. People who are Premium can file support tickets, and if they get the attention of LL, occasionally that helps.

I had over 10-thousand items in my inventory, a great many of them textures that I created in photoshop, then paid to upload. Gone.

I can't believe what a naive buffoon I was just several months ago. I was SURE that LL was working hard to actually *improve* the SL experience. But after watching them unroll *new* code, unwanted features, and promise even *cooler* stuff to come in the future, I've had it.

LL needs to seriously stabilize the platform. Either that...or they should all have the decency to come in world, commit mass seppuku, and get some people on the job that can fix what's broken.

I'm not saying it's easy...I'm not saying they're stupid.

I'm just saying they have their priorities completely, totally, and irrefutably ass-backwards.

I'm getting a similar message but all it says is "Unable to create requested object", this only happens on my land and at any height, I thought it was attachments so I stripped off everything and still got it. I have turned of any rezzers on the land but still get the message. sometimes it pops up a few times one after the other, sometimes every minute and sometimes every few minutes. No idea what it is but it's been happening a few days now and is really beginning to annoy me.

Definately don't take any no=copy items out. This seems to happen every few weeks, days, you get used to it. A few things make it easier for some reason. Rezzing on actual land seems to help a bit, rez in EDIT mode so at least you can tell that SL is thinking while you wait. And for some reason if I build a box and rez on top of it sometimes that seems to help. And never rez on a 'superprim' that being an oversized prim, you will be there forever if it even works at all. This really sucks having lots of lil booths like I do because everyone seems to use oversized prims in malls and I can never rez anything successfully, takes a forever.

This just happened to me on items I had JUST bought, and of course, because I wasn't paying attention, they (and the folder they were in) are now gone completely.

on something I just opened from Hexed, c/m,
can't wear the prim parts, a skirt and a belt,
they are in the folder, can see but go to put on and get that msg,
opened a backup, creates a folder with the items, same thing.
Is it just SL atm or are these blanks?
I logged in on an empty sim ... just to see after clearing cache, folders are good, nope same error msg. *sad lamer faces*

Do the things if you still possess ever rez when things are righted?

If you have good karma, things that you have lost may turn up in your lost and found folder at some point ... or not. It's not really predictable, in my experience.

Sometimes. They've slapped the [Resolved] Band-Aid up now, so you might check again and perhaps try a few cache clears if it's still not working.

yah yah I know there are bigger issues, and I have to deal w/ them too, am just trying to figure this out or help get fixed

New day, cleared cache, diff viewers, sims loading, nope,
I have 4 folders now of the same thing and everything in them is there,
but the prims won't wear, the Hexed owner sent me a new one,
she has nps w/ same skirt, but was a no go for me and informed is a jira issue and was very nice to help me.

Which really sucks, I had this really cool outfit all planed out too!
So I buy a dress from Silentsparrow, suprise! it comes w/ 2 skirts and they wear fine,
that is going to suck, hit or miss on "Unable to create requested object. Object is missing from database."

I don't see on https://jira.secondlife.com/ about this, all the ones I saw said Resolved?
