I lean towards a different reason for it - the person writing the Status post simply can't be bothered to spend the 2 minutes to tell the people who need to know.
You make a good case--especially given that no Linden signs the Blog entry.
I think we all agree that, like most companies, this one does massage the information it puts out somewhat, with a view toward presenting an image of Onward And Upward Robust Good Financial Health And Always-Satisfied Customers.
That's unsurprising and requires no conspiracy theory.
But most companies have a person or two who gets by with doing less than they should. And that may be the case, here.
(I wonder how much work it is to generate one of those blue window messages, anyway? Maybe it takes a team of 20 software engineers six hours to generate, eh?)
