Now that Felix, Is an ingenious idea!
I have never muted anyone, ever. i always figure I can ignore anything they throw at me or respond in a civil way. And eventually they may have something useful to offer. But this guy is really doing my head in now so he may be my first mutee...
Thankyou

Claire, only problem with this is if they belong to the Forum, be prepared the possibility of possible private messages asking you "what happened to our friendship". It might never end :( And, you'll eventually be forced into having to explain yourself anyway. I speak from experience.

Isn't it true though, that if you are in a group with anyone they can look at the group info and still see if you are online?

Yes, but there is now an option to 'hide groups in profile'. So, no one can pull you up from your groups list, unless of course they are also in the group. :)

I have to laugh in a way, all these ways to essentially stalk someone in SL. They look at a group in your pofile, find one that is free to join, just to check if you are really online. I think this is why I never start IMs first anyway, that way I am never one of those IM pests lol

Except for one particular person, I tend to try to keep from being first. Used to have great trouble being first with anyone. Now the point is that if the friends are the same way . . . you would never talk in IM. hehe

Hmm, I think there are a few people I need to try and say hi to! lol...you know what would be great is an in world email system. Wont have to worry about sending an IM during, er, private moments that way!

lol. Thankfully thay are not on the forums - unless they have an alt i don't know of, which is quite possible. It seems they are starting to get the message though, no IMs as of yet - and i haven't even muted them yet lol.

I am one of those people who hesitate to start IMs as well. I never want to interrupt anything and feel really guity when i do start it and they say that they are a bit busy lol. i usually wait for others to initiate a conversation.

erm drop a notecard on them LOL

(I know what you mean though, something that is like an im, but instead of instant, it stores the im in "email" format

This is so true. I will usually talk with someone forever if they initiate an IM, but I have never been very forward myself. And I always feel like I am interupting if I IM someone unless they are right there at the same place.

I will usually give a person 15 minutes or so after they log in before I IM them, just so they can clean up all the offline crap they have to deal with.

That is actually the best way to go. With how many group notices go out now a days and offlines, jumping on someone when they log in is like pouncing on someone the moment they get home from work!

In which case, AR them for harassment.
