Very good observation Lindal. I will have to say that climbing all those steps is something of an accomplishment.

It's kind like NASCar for 15 mins :p

T-shirt at the top sounds like a great idea...so the next question won't surprise you too much. Anyone know how to create a custom t-shirt..or who or where to get one russled up in a hurry.

I can build a 1500m tower with spiral stair case to the top..but a t-shirt..that's got me stumped!!

Suggestions gratefully accepted..

Nice bit of work. Gets almost hypnotic after going up for a while. Couple things:

- Maybe add some kind of railing or at least a transparent wall for the observation decks? I was a bit afraid of leaving the stairwell with it being no-fly lol.
- At 213m there's a step missing

I liked this tower especially for the fact the walls were relatively thick and the stairs were anchored to the walls instead of being a floating staircase. Yes I have seen things like floating stairways (not magical either, just a lazy builder), as well as some small castles made of paper-thin prim walls. A 1500m freestanding stone tower is simply beyond RL possibilities of course, but if it's designed well enough you can 'forget' the fact it'd never exist in RL. Same applies to most large SL builds.

That was awesome, Perre! Thank you very much.

And thank you, Crazod, for the giant marble. I hopped inside, and rolled off the edge. Wheeeee!

You're welcome Maureen..I wondered what the green object falling out of the sky was.

If anyone wants to drive a car or bike or anything else of the top feel free just remember to clear up the wreckage at the bottom..including blood stains..:p

Thanks to 3 Ring Binder and Abba Thiebauld, commemorative T-Shirts are now available at the top of the Tower. Probably not the way it's supposed to work but..right click the sign..click 'more 'and 'buy' for L$0.

Now for those of you who already climbed up there and then somehow 'forgot' to set a teleport point on the off chance you might want to go back up, IM me in world and I'll iether send you the Tee's or a teleport coordinate. Though I have to tell you the pic on the front of the box is worth climbing to the top again just to see.

Enjoy...Perre..:D

That will so rock!

One thing I miss about There.com is the ability to just dive off stuff and rag doll down the side. Being in something there will be close to that. Thanks for building it.

That was fun! I ran up, took 15 mins, then pulled the parachute at the top to enjoy the scenery on my way down :) Thanks for building this.

I'm so thankful that I didn't know before I climbed those stairs,
but I'm even more thankful to know that after climbing them.

That's a handy tip.

Oh and I'm going to put a box at the top with my 'revolutionary new flying device' in it. Intended for those who want the ultimate in rapid descent luxury vehicles..:p

That will be a little later today/tomorrow/yesterday (depending on where you are and when you read this..right now must go to RL work..:(

The Revolutionary New Flying Experience is now in place at the top of the tower if anyone's interested in an alternative method of descent.
A selection of colours and one size fits all (yes your legs are supposed to stick out the side..I like to think it's to assist the aerodynamics..:p)

Thought I'd lift the flight restriction just in case someone with very small legs was having trouble climbing up and hadn't read Wilffire's post. Also the rez and script restriction lifted though I thought I'd already done that - now you can rez your fav motor and hurl it over the edge.

How phallic....

I hear that demolishing tall towers in SL using physics causes temporary Erectile Dysfunction in those observing the event... Just be warned.

"Great news everyone" (to be read in a Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth - Futurama - sort of a voice)

Those nice people at Linden Labs have rolled back Laurentia and the Laurentia Tower stands once again..here's a pic to prove it..
