Um wheres my money

Today I upgraded from basic to premium (yay me! lol) and I thought there was a signup bonus..I didnt get one.This is my first and only account and my first and only upgrade lol. Am I mistaken? My credit card was confirmed and everything.Or at least I thought it was,I mean I got the ok.Am I wrong?

that bonus is only for new accounts not accounts that have been up graded

I upgraded from Basic to Premium in December 2007, and received the bonus 45 days later.

I also upgraded from Basic to Premium in December 2007, and never received a bonus.

Weird.

I just did some checking, and here's what I found:

My rez-day is 12/5/2007.

My account went Premium on 12/15/07.

The detail entries for December include one that says, "Initial Monthly Subscription | Restored Account Balance Adj." and one that says, "Initial Monthly Subscription | Balance Adjustment." These entries have identical timestamps.

It's possible that there is some kind of timeframe for Basic to convert to Premium, and I fell within that timeframe. Or there may have been some glitch in how my account was handled.

I've heard of other people getting the bonus after upgrading. Wonder what the rule is.

Maybe things have changed but I upgraded from basic to Premium in Oct 2006, a month after I came to SL. I think I got my L$1000 bonus immediately.

i upgraded last may... and as far as i know, 'upgrade bonuses' no longer existed then.

This another example where LL can't get out of their own way. The website says one thing, the knowledge base will say another, I think someone actually asked a Linden once and got a different answer, even people's experiences aren't consistent. How hard is this to to get straight? But for the record, I joined in Jan 07, went Premium a couple of weeks later, and got the bonus almost immediately. That's how I started my shoe empire.

I just received an "LL Grant" for 1250

Unless it's because I'm so special, the only reason for this can be the fact that I upgraded to premium several weeks ago (when the Hangout needed more tier, whenever that was).

So, not just new accounts.

I hate to say it but if you were Basic and then upgraded you won't get a sign up bonus. You will get your weekly stipend.

i got no bonus and sent a ticket and the reply was that no bonuses for upgrated accounts ....

Looking at my transaction histories.
I started DaQbet on 1/22/07 as a basic account and received a $L250 New User Stipend (which I believe they should still offer new users!)
A week later he went Premium (charged $22.50 on 2/03/07 per my CC statement) and that same day I received a $L1000 Linden Grant.
It does seem from peoples stories that LL is a little inconsistent.

Now, i don't really have personal experience with upgrading (with Cybin, i joined as Premium in Jan of 04, my alt joined (and remained) as Basic); however, looking at the Membership Plans page, there are a couple of important footnotes.


both of these footnotes (3 & 4) are notated with the L$1000 bonus in the chart.

3 - Signup bonus is issued only on our confirmation of valid credit card or other identity information. You will not be charged for this bonus — the information is collected only to confirm your identity.
Note: Bonus applies to the first account only.

4 - Premium signup bonus is granted to new registrations only. You will receive your signup bonus 45 days after the signup date, assuming your credit card has been accepted.


after reading these, i would think that upgrades do not receive them. they are paid out 45 days after payment method is accepted and is apparently only good for one account. (although i've never heard either way about that one)


side note: i have no idea what the L$1250 grants are that people are talking about.. possibly a glitch combination of Basic (which is no longer active) & Premium bonuses?

Those who have upgraded:
Did you have other payment info on file (like paypal info) prior to upgrading? Or did you enter payment info for the first time as a result of going premium? (and did u get a bonus?)

okay, i signed up in january 07. basic. i tried to put in my payment information to get a 'bonus' of 250L, but it was greyed out. so i didnt get a startup bonus for starting up and laying my payment info on the line. okay.

in may, i switched to premium. i was using my 20K lindens to pay, but in order to take those OUT, i had to have a transaction on file beforehand. so i purchased 1USD worth of L. when my 'payment info used' status or whatever came through, i could then cash in/out. so i cashed out and paid with my balance.


i suppose... technically i have never paid any "real" money in (minus one dollar), so i guess they don't think i deserve to take their free "virtual" money. could that be it?

Well, this is mighty crappy.... I made this account ages ago and have gathered a decent collection of goodies... and if I want the bonus I need a new account? That's flat out discrimination >< Especially with how some objects are non transferable.

I suppose I'll just buy some linden than upgrade then. Not like I would use any owned land anyways.

i can't really remember much myself from back then if i was premium right away or basic or npiof.i think i was basic or npiof but i remember getting money like right away..i think my alt did also..i just remember thinking it was kind of nice coming in and having money right away..i don't remember waiting 45 days for it though..it was like right away.
